The program will check for a newer version whenever you launch either Acrobat or Adobe Reader as an app, and prompt you to install a newer version when one is available. Adobes Acrobat Updater is not required for booting, but since there are frequent security updates to Adobe programs, it is smart to leave this enabled, so that you are alerted when there is a new update available. The latest updates can be downloaded and installed by clicking the Updater window.

After months of beta testing, Adobe Photoshop is now running natively on Apple devices running Apples new M1 chip, which is powered by ARM. You may find a desktop model (iMac or Mac Pro) is more suitable. If you know that you are going to use heavy apps such as this regularly, then upgrading to MacBook Pro may be worthwhile. While MacBook Air can run Adobe Premiere Pro, 1.5GB of GPU memory does not fit into a minimum requirement, and it might not be enough, particularly if you plan on working in 4K.
