Airpod Case Not Charging
You can try doing a few things to fix your AirPods so that they can start to charge. You can start by ensuring that the lightning to USB cable is plugged in properly in the charging case as well as the power adapter of the USB. Another thing you can do is check whether the adapter is plugged firmly into the power outlet.
If you have an issue with a power supply you are connecting the Lightning cables with in order to charge the AirPods Case or AirPods Pro Case, it may cause problems charging your AirPods Case. The status light should turn on for several seconds, then off when your case is charging> Plug your Lightning cable adapter into the power supply, and your AirPods case should charge. If the case is not charging yet, see if using a different cable (make sure it is an Apple-made one) fixes the problem.
If the problem occurs when charging via your system (such as Mac or Windows computer), then check to see if connecting your charging cable to a different USB port allows you to charge the case. Even if a cable does charge the iPhone or AirPods when they are in your case, remember to try a different cable. To test whether a cable is the problem, plug this cable into another AirPod or phone, and see whether or not that device is charging.
If the Apple AirPods are charging, try using the original cable, but with the new brick–if they are still charging, then it is the power brick that is the problem.
If the AirPods are still not charging, you might also have to do a reset. If the steps above did not resolve your charging issue, you may need to reset the AirPods in order to fix the firmware error that is keeping the AirPods from charging. Before you can update your firmware to try and solve your charging issues, you will want to make sure that your AirPods are connected to your iPhone.
When buying Apples AirPods, you should ensure that your cover supports wireless charging. If you do have wireless charging support, check that you are using the AirPods 2nd Gen, or the AirPods Pro. The AirPods Pro are the only versions to support wireless charging. If you are using a wireless charging base to charge the AirPods, you should use another to ensure that it is not a charging pad issue.
Whether you use a wired charging pad or an AC adapter to charge AirPods wirelessly, be sure that the AirPods are connected properly to a wall outlet. Whether you are using Apples charge cable or a third-party charge cable, you will want to make sure it is working.
If you are using an extension cable to charge your Apple AirPods cases, this can cause charging issues as the extension does not receive enough power or is damaged. You can connect the AirPods case almost everywhere for charging the AirPods case, and sometimes, an imperfect power supply may cause an uncharging problem.
While it might look like your AirPods are broken, it is just as likely the charging case is the reason for the problem, or that your cables are bad. You could have soiled contacts making it impossible for the AirPods to plug into the charging case, you could have something blocking the charging ports of your case, meaning it is really the issue, or you might have a software problem at play.
If it is not a USB or charging connection, and your charging ports pins seem to be clean, it may be a software problem. If you suspect the charging case is not charging, then the more likely culprit is something that is blocking the charging connection, and this is likely to be either the charging cable is not fully in place if using a wired charging method, if the cable is damaged, or the case is not making good contact with the wireless charging base if wireless charging is used. Perhaps the most common reason for an AirPods not charging is because the charging contacts are dirty, with grime either on the AirPods base, within the charging case, or both.
This means when your battery case runs low, your AirPods do not get charged either, meaning that eventually, your AirPods will stop working. If you see orange light while pressing back button on charging case and AirPods are not connected to power, it means that battery is under 10%. For the other models, if you do not see the Light, it means that the battery in the case is totally empty and needs to be quickly charged.
If you do see a LED light on the exterior of the case, it means your case is able to charge wirelessly. If you have the AirPods Wireless Charging Case, put it on your Qi-certified wireless charger, and hold the small state light on the inside of the case facing upward.
If the charging light does not turn on, there is probably an issue somewhere in your AirPods charging process, so continue working your way through this troubleshooting guide until you spot it. Try charging some other devices on the pad to make sure that is working properly. First, plug in any other gadgets to your power socket and see if charging works.
To Factory Reset Then, before trying to charge the AirPods again, put both AirPods back into their case with their batteries in, and press the buttons at the back for a good 15+ seconds. If this happens, and your AirPods are fully charged, a firmware fault is the reason why, and you can factory reset the case/AirPods (discussed below). If charging does not work, see if flipping the ends of the cables around (i.e., putting the charging end in your case, but vice-versa) fixes the problem.
If you tried the combination mentioned above and you still cannot get charging, try cleaning Apples AirPods case to ensure that any contact-based charging is free from debris. Then, grab a periodontal brush or a similar tool, and scrub down the inner contact points at each AirPods compartment within your charging case.
Make sure that the other charger Apple has is connected directly to a power supply, with no surge protector, etc. You may also want to test out the magnetic MagSafe charging. If the flashing light appears above the device battery, the Apple charging cable is still working. Charge the iPhone using the Lightning cable, and test whether or not it is working.
Why is my AirPod case not charging, but the AirPods are?
