If your Apple TV is not supporting YouTube, you should not worry about this problem. If you are encountering problems with the app, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling it, or checking for any software updates for your Apple TV that might be available. All you should do is go to Settings, choose System, then Software Updates to check for updates. Ensure that your internet connection is stable.
I previously wrote about what you can do if you are having generic YouTube issues with Apple TV. Restarting the Apple TV is easy, and it may have been the efficient way of solving my issue.
After updating and rebooting their Apple TV, you may want to try running the YouTube app and streaming a video you are having trouble with. After doing so, restart your Apple TV again and try streaming a video to YouTube to see if rebooting helps. After checking the IP address and DNS settings, reboot your Apple TV, and then open up the YouTube app and try playing a couple videos to check whether or not the issue has been fixed.

Some users have reported that reinstalling the YouTube app helped them resolve their issue with YouTube Not Working on your Apple TV, so you might try this too. On Twitter, YouTube Support is telling people (open in new window) to try deleting and reinstalling the latest version of the YouTube app for Apple TV, which is said not to resolve crashes. Users of the YouTube app for the YouTube app for the Apple TV device took to Twitter and Reddit to complain about their media streaming devices being stuck while trying to leave YouTube.
Apparently, the problem is happening on Apple TVs that updated YouTubes app to its latest tvOS version, one released Dec. 7, 17.48.2. Third-generation Apple TVs are not running on tvOS — the modified version of iOS that allows Apple TVs to support certain apps the iPhone can — and they do not have the App Store anymore, so it is no wonder that YouTubes app has been pulled from those models, as they cannot push updates on the app.
By not having tvOS and an App Store on their older TVs, Apple is obviously hoping that you will upgrade to the newer TVs. While older Apple TVs do no longer natively support YouTubes App App, it is comforting to know there is an easy, convenient, less-expensive way around this new change, so you do not need to upgrade an older Apple TV in order to cast your favorite YouTube videos.
With AirPlay, you can even cast YouTube from an iOS device straight to any Apple TV (3rd-generation or newer). In other words, you can plug an iPhone or iPad into an Apple TV, and then cast a YouTube Playback (or any content) on the Apple TV. There are a lot of ways to hook up your device for watching YouTube on a Smart TV or streaming device.
This is one method that should work for everyone, as you will not be trying to use the YouTube app that is on your Apple TV anymore, but rather, you will stream the YouTube replays from your iPhone/iPad onto the Apple TV. Meanwhile, if you wanted to use YouTube on your Apple TV, you could still try out the AirPlay option that we mentioned above, or, alternatively, you could try out a workaround that we are going to show you below, and which should let you use the YouTube app on your Apple TV.

Some of the common reasons why YouTube does not work on an Apple TV are a network problem, an Apple TV that is messed up, an issue with internal software, etc.
The good news is there are a few ways that you can fix my issue so your YouTube searches will start working again. In this post, I will cover the things you can do when you are getting unexpected results while searching for YouTube on Apple TV.
