Bluetooth Headset Review

Plantronics Voyager 5200 is one of the best Bluetooth headsets out there, and comes from a brand name that is highly regarded in the headphones world. Overall, I fully endorse the Plantronics Voyager 5200 headset, as the Plantronics Voyager 5200 headset has noise-cancellation capabilities, wind-cancellation capabilities, audio coming out through the Bluetooth headset is crystal clear, and it has a triple mic, meaning the voice audio created by me talking into the mic is also clear at the other end of the phone. The noise-cancellation of the Plantronics Voyager 5200 is effective, even in crowded environments, and the triple mics provide solid sound quality, making this an excellent overall Bluetooth headset.

The Plantronics Voyager 5200 Headset connects with your favourite audio devices using reliable Bluetooth connectivity, has a comfortable mono-earphone design with a memory foam headband, provides 24-hours of extended battery life with just one charge, and the headphones are also water-resistant. While more substantial than other headsets on our list, the Plantronics Voyager Focus UC is by far the most comfortable, with the ability to have a call-control button directly over your ear. Other features of the Plantronics Voyager Focus UC include a respectable 12 hours battery life, as well as dynamic mute warnings to let you know when the mic is on or off, as well as the ability to quickly and easily adjust the headset using the Plantronics Hub for Mobile and Desktop.

Plantronics touts 7 hours of battery life, and while it also touts a charging pouch with the Voyager Legend for most cases, you do not get one in the box. The EXA H1 is pleasantly lightweight at 140g, and is easy enough to wear to a long meeting, and its up-to-30-hour battery life on a call means that most people will need to recharge only once every two weeks or so. Plus, Sennheiser says that on a charge, our top pick overall lasts eight to 10 hours.

Putting aside the fit, the lower range of volume, and the Sennheiser Presences price, the Sennheiser headphones do a great job, and Sennheisers high-quality sound, great battery life, and good included accessories make this an extremely worthy buy. The Sennheiser Presence UC is not the most comfortable headset, though, so if you want something that you are going to wear for an entire day, then something like the Jabra Motion would better fit the bill. Its rather big size means the Jabra Wave is not the stealthiest of headsets, but that is a trade-off worth making for all of that battery life.

It also has solid sound quality, and is great at reducing noise, particularly wind. Resistant to dust, dirt, and water, the Jabra Steel can even withstand heavy drops, making it an ideal headset for outdoors — it even comes with a 5-year warranty. At just eight grams, the Jabra Stealth is one of the lighter Bluetooth devices we have tested, which is good if you are planning on wearing it for an entire day.

Combine this with the excellent sound, and it is easily one of the best Bluetooth headsets overall, and also best in class for an over-ear setup. While Jabra Stealth is still holding up well — you are not going to find this one at bargain prices — the amount of bang for the buck that you are getting from this headset means it is a truly great value, and one that you could spend your hard-earned cash on right now. Perhaps more importantly, sound quality is superb with this headset, and it does a great job at keeping the background noise picked up by its microphones to a minimum, too.

The Jabra Talk 35 does not quite have the same great microphone and noise-cancellation qualities of our other choices, but the Jabra Talk 35 costs roughly one-third what our other choices cost, and performs far better than some other Bluetooth budget headsets–and some Bluetooth headphones that are over $100, too. The Jabra Talk 30 includes a third position for Bluetooth pairing, making pairing truly effortless. Jabra Talk 30 The Jabra Talk 30 is the only earbud that has a power switch that is the right type.

The headset is optimized for conversations, so that you can speak on the phone (or other Bluetooth device) hands-free. Using a Bluetooth headset such as ICOMTOFITs Bluetooth headset makes it extremely convenient to continue your tasks without having to shift all of your focus onto the phone, and thanks to its ability to support two devices simultaneously, you can get calls from two devices with a single headset. While I am not a trucker, I still love the Plantronics Voyager 5200 Headset for many reasons, but I especially love the fact that you can wander for almost 100 feet — or more accurately, 30 meters — in any direction, and you can still stay connected to your Bluetooth-enabled phone.

On the negative side, the Jabra Talk 35s antiquated Bluetooth 3.0 tech limits its connection range to 33 feet (a third that of the M300-XT and the Voyager 5200) and limits the time it will last you up to six hours. Our top pick, by far, uses Bluetooth 4.0, and adopts Sennheisers SpeakFocus tech, which is designed to improve vocal clarity across scenarios. A top-of-the-line Bluetooth headset, the Voyager Legend has three noise-canceling mics capable of disassociating up to 80dB of ambient noise from your voice, a feat Lifewire reviewers found effective.

It is the most affordable headset we chose, and although it might not provide the absolute best experience, the value proposition that is offered is hard to argue with. We are not trying to turn potential buyers away, and the Sennheiser Presence is still an excellent headset. The Conambo JBT800 headphones feature Bluetooth 5.0 capabilities, A2DP support for music, ergonomic controls, and fast pairing to any available Bluetooth devices.

Are Bluetooth headsets worth it?

While Bluetooth audio isn’t as high-quality as cable audio because there is still data loss, it is still sufficient for many users. Since their beginnings, high-quality Bluetooth codecs have advanced significantly, and even the common SBC codec has advanced.
