To play Fortnite on a Mac, you will need to download the game from Epic Games website and install it to your Mac, just like you would with any other normal application. The Epic Games Launcher will start downloading Fortnite for Mac automatically, and then it figures out how to automatically install Fortnite. You can use the same process described above to install Epic Games launcher, then install Fortnite to the Silicon Mac. Fortunately, because Epic Games Fortnite (both Save The World and Battle Royale) is officially supported on the Mac, installing the game on the Mac is pretty straightforward.
Thankfully, the fact that Fortnite is officially supported by Apple makes installing Fortnite incredibly simple. Yes, it is available on Apples other iOS-powered devices, but to date, there is not an official Mac version. Fortnite is playable on just about any OS and device, though, and some are definitely better than others.
You cannot find it in the App Store for Appleas OS; head over to the developersa official site. Unfortunately, given the ban, you cannot play Fortnite directly on any Mac or Apple device. Unlike other popular games like Among Us, the game is fully optimized for the Mac.
While your gameplay experience might not be quite as upscale or top-notch as you will find with the windows counterpart or new-gen console, there is definitely an option for downloading and playing Fortnite on your Mac. Fortnite is available currently on Boosteroid and GeForce Cloud Gaming Service — two cloud gaming services that can allow you to play Fortnite, even though Fortnite does not have a MacOS version for your Mac. While you cannot now get Fortnite from the macOS App Store (unless you have it preinstalled), there is one way you could get a game preinstalled with a super-latest update: via Nvidias GeForce Now.
Once installed and signed up, you can load Fortnite onto Nvidias remote servers via the macOS GeForce Now client, and play the game through the cloud. Epic has included everything into one install, so the process should be simple if you already downloaded the game to your PC. All you have to do is download Fortnite from the Epic Store website (click on the “Download” button on the upper-right corner when opening the link), then run the downloaded file and complete the installation by dragging and dropping a Fortnite icon onto your apps folder icon (just as when installing any other app).
The game works especially well on a Mac, so if you are missing playing a popular game on a PC and you do not have Windows on Boot Camp (or cannot run Windows due to an Apple Silicon Mac), this works pretty well. Since Play streams a desktop version of a popular game from a PC to a Mac, iPad, or iPhone, touch controls are not very good, but you can adjust these settings if you want. While you might have the latest, most advanced Mac, which is able to run Fortnite with all of the settings from Epic, it may not be the best option if you want to get a smooth running Fortnite experience in order to get the competitive edge.

Adjusting these settings may help your Mac run Fortnite faster, but may also make the game more difficult to play. Some recommended settings are a good starting point, but you will likely need to manually adjust a number of game settings related to graphics quality and performance. When you are deciding what in-game settings you should be using while playing Fortnite on a Mac, Epic Games provides info about minimum recommended requirements and optimal requirements, which will give a more desirable experience.
If you are looking to play Fortnite, and your Mac only meets the games minimum system requirements (or just barely passes), you might want to try out this method, since Parallels approach may fail you to play Fortnite. If you have an older model Mac, which might not be capable of meeting all of the system requirements for Fortnite, but still want to play the game without buying a new machine just for this purpose, you might actually still be able to play Fortnite on your current Mac through the Workaround Method. While you will still be able to download Fortnite for Mac, you will not be able to participate in late-season matches or cross-platform play (playing with PC, Android, or console players) – this basically means that you will be limited to playing with other players on Apple devices.

Macs do not have any problem running independent games, but Fortnite might seem like a stretch, as you are basically playing against 99 other players, which actually increases the graphics that will have to be rendered. For Mac users, Fortnite boasts a compatible version that is at-the-ready to download. Whether you are on PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or even iOS/Android, there is a Fortnite version out there, ready for you to download and play with friends. Ever since its developer, Epic Games, began waging legal battles with Apple, Fortnite has not received updates on either Mac or iOS.
Epic Games agreed it would abide by the rules, and is getting ready to bring Fortnite back on Apple devices, but Apple is not willing to give Fortnite — or any of Epics titles — back right now. It is been nearly nine months since Epic Games undercut their own chart-topping game, which led to Apple pulling Fortnite from their stores and blocking Epic from updating the game on Apple devices. While its own chart-topping game has been constantly evolving on PC and console — introducing new locations, new weapons systems, and new enemies — Fortnite on the Mac has been reduced to a time capsule, stuck at Chapter 2, Season 3, three full seasons behind the main game.
The first thing that strikes you upon firing up its own chart-topping game (no need for 76GB of updates) is just how bare-bones it looks, even from a lobby screen.

Mac is simply running another OS, which limits what the gaming experience can be on the Mac. Fortnite is not coming back to the App Store – instead, it will be playable through Apples Safari web browser through Nvidias game streaming service, GeForce Now. To download Fortnite on Mac, simply head over to the Epic Games website and begin the downloading process from the Mac.
Will Fortnite come to Mac?
Yes, you can play Fortnite on a Mac, but you’ll need to use cloud gaming or set up Windows on it to download the Windows version of the game. Boosteroid and GeForce Now are two cloud gaming services that let you play Fortnite on a Mac.
