Homepod Not Responding
Open the Home app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac while logged in with the Apple ID you used to set up HomePod. Click or tap the HomePod. Before selecting Restart HomePod, press or click the Settings button and then scroll down. Press and hold the top of your HomePod until it turns on once again.
You simply need to use the Playback app on an iPhone or iPad, tap on the AirPlay icon to send it to your HomePod, and you will see that, even though there is no WiFi, HomePod appears in your options. Rather than having to disconnect then reconnect your HomePod back to a wall outlet, you can reboot the speaker with Siri from the home app on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac. Restarting the HomePod is just the same as rebooting any other device, such as an iPhone or Mac.
You can restore the Home App from the Home App on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac using the steps mentioned above. If, for whatever reason, you need to reset the HomePod or HomePod mini, and cannot do it via the Home app — such as if HomePod is not showing up in the Home app, or if you do not have the device that you used for pairing — you can do the reset manually right from HomePod. Knowing how to reboot or reset your HomePod can be helpful when things go south.
Restarting it through the Home app may be a bit risky, however, since you will be presented with options to reboot or reset your HomePod, so be sure to take care before tapping. Scroll down and tap or click on “Reset HomePod,” and then choose “Restart HomePod”. Open the HOME app, hold the device name HomePod or HomePod mini, or HomePod mini, and scroll to the bottom of the HomePod settings menu.
If HomePod mini is still unresponsive after trying, open the Home app on your iPhone, go to the HomePod mini settings, and toggle Listen to Hey Siri. If Your HomePod is connected to Wi-Fi, but it still does not respond to Hey Siri, check that Listen for Hey Siri is turned on. If the answer is still not coming, and you know that Apples HomePod is connected to the iOS device of choice, head to your devices settings and turn Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on/off.
To do this, pick up the iOS device you are planning on using to set up, hold it next to the HomePod, then tap “Set Up” when it appears on the devices screen. When it is offered, choose which room of the Apple HomeKit that you would like to put the Apple HomePod into, and tap Move Settings to send the settings from your iOS device — your iCloud credentials, WiFi information — to your HomePod. There, hold down its Smart Speaker, open Details, and enable Hey Siri if Hey Siri is turned off.
To test whether a HomePod or HomePod mini is connected and powered, just ask Siri or tap on the devices glass face. Your device and the HomePod should share the same Apple ID, and you should be close to the HomePod in order to reboot. If your Siri-powered speaker stops responding to your requests, rebooting may help to fix the problem.

The problem occurs when Your HomePod stops responding to your personal requests, commands from within the Home app (such as playing music from Apple Music), shows “Not Responding” messages within the Home app, or does not respond to the physical tap at the top of your HomePod. Generally, the Apple Home app tends to push the issue any time your HomePod is disconnected from your network. There are known issues that may happen between your HomePod and Apples Home app, which may result in a “Not Responding” error. A temporary communications failure between your HomePod, router, and plugged-in devices like an iPhone may be the reason for the problem.
When your HomePod cannot log into your Apple ID, cannot connect to the home WiFi network, or encounters some other problem, the Home app displays an alert with details of the problem. Like a lot of folks in Apples support forums, this solution is only temporary, and inevitably, HomePod Mini will eventually lose its HomePod Mini WiFi connection once more. If the router is configured to throttle throughput in order to conserve the energy consumed by the router, if traffic is low or non-existent, this can cause HomePod not to respond, since the router is blocking data transmissions between your devices, such as your iPhone, and HomePod. If your new HomePod has started not responding to your iPhones commands, or is experiencing some other connectivity issues, then temporarily removing the iPhones Home app from your iPhone might provide your device with a clean slate to connect.

Once your new HomePod starts charging again, hold down the top of the HomePod. Tap on the top of your HomePod, and if you hear music, the HomePod is powered on and ready for you to use. First, simply connect your smart speaker and tap the top of the speaker, if volume controls are active or music is playing, then the HomePod is working just fine.
This process basically drains the HomePod of all remaining power and fixes any electrical faults that may be present. The hard reboot is done using the devices primary power source, so you will need to access the devices power adapter.

HomePod can be reset by pressing its top if the Home app is unable to do so. Unplug HomePod or the HomePod mini’s power adaptor. After waiting 10 seconds, re-plug your HomePod. After waiting 10 seconds, touch and hold your finger on the top of the HomePod.
