How To Delete A Gmail Account On Iphone

Open up the Gmail app on your iPad or iPhone. Simply tap your profile image at the upper right. Click the device’s Manage accounts button. Select this device’s Remove option. Scroll to “Data from applications and services you use.” Tap Delete a Google service under “Download or delete your data.” “Gmail” is next; touch Delete.

If you signed in to Gmail in Safari, you will also have to remove your account there. Once you follow the methods described above, the next time this device is connected to the Internet and you attempt to use Gmail, it will prompt you to log back in. Gmail will ask you to give an alternate email address that you can use to log in to your Google account in the future.

Your Google account includes other things such as YouTube, Google One, etc. Try to remember whether or not you used/linked this Gmail address with any other accounts. Before you clear your Gmail, you need to make sure this email address is not connected with your bank, work, or any other important accounts, because in light of the fact that once it is deleted, there is really no way of forwarding messages sent to the email address.

Log into an alternative email address, and you should get a message from Gmail containing a link to delete the Google account. Tap on Remove account on the bottom of the options page, and then Remove from my iPhone on the alert that appears. To confirm, tap Delete account, or, in some cases, tap Delete from my iPhone. In older versions of iOS, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts, choose which email account you would like to remove, and tap Delete Account.

When you delete an email account from your iPhone, your email account and address are not altered. For IMAP and Exchange accounts, nothing changes on the server or any other email program configured to access the same account. If you wish to delete the entire Google account, not just the email address, then there is a different set of steps that must be performed. If you are trying to remove a single Google Account from an Android device, you also need to type in the devices pattern, password, or PIN in order to get this done.

If you are in that situation, Gmail will allow you to add a different account instead. It is really easy for anyone to set up an account with Gmail, and chances are, you created an account (or several) you would like to delete.

If someone has access to your Gmail, they could be able to reset the passwords to all your social accounts, apps, shopping sites, and much, much more. Keep in mind that deleting your Gmail account from an iPhone or iPad prevents the account from syncing data with your Mail, Contacts, and Calendar apps. Once you have done swiping, you can either confirm or delete a message from the emails. Next, swipe left on the email, tap on the trash button, then delete the message within the email.
