You can start by checking your iPads Bluetooth settings to see whether or not your stylus is still connected, if so, it means that Apple Pencil is close. While there is no official way of tracking down an Apple Pencil, if it is still connected to the iPad, you can see whether or not an active Bluetooth connection is present by looking at the list of connected devices under Settings > Bluetooth on the iPads Bluetooth settings. By going to the Bluetooth settings and turning this on, you should have the iPad connected to the Apple Pencil once it is within Bluetooth range, which is approximately 30 feet — that is typically about the width of about two rooms worth of Bluetooth range.

Make sure you are not turning Bluetooth off on the iPad or on your last device plugged in, because if you are, then chances are that the Apple Pencil will disconnect, and it may enter a power-saving mode. By placing the Apple stylus inside the silicone case, such as this one, you will also be able to attach key rings and neck cords. How to Check Battery Levels on the Apple Pencil The Apple Pencil does not have any sort of physical charging indicator or LED lights on its cylindrical body; instead, you can check its current battery life on the currently-paired iPad or iPad Pro.

Bluetooth Tracking Apps are basically Bluetooth locators, which you can use to find Bluetooth-enabled devices like your AirPods, Apple Watch, or even MacBook. The My Device is a Bluetooth-enabled device connected to your iPad, along with devices you have paired before. Attaching is also a good way to prevent losing the Pencil, though magnetic forces are not powerful enough to keep Pencil stationary under modest forces.

In the Notes app, you can tweak an extra feature that will activate a toggle for switching between current and last used tools, showing a palette of colors, switching between the current and eraser tools, and turning off Apple Pencil 2. App developers could give double-tap another function, such as selecting another artists tool, but we have so far only seen it used to trigger the eraser in most apps except for the Notes app. Some apps, such as Astropad Studio, even offer dedicated combined Pencil-touch gestures, which serve a similar purpose as Function buttons.
