Creating a list on Notes is certainly faster than reaching for pen and paper to write down your list in real life. Creating a new checklist in the Notes app requires several steps, and you might be looking for a faster way to make one.

To create a new checklist from scratch, open Notes on iOS 9, and tap on the pencil-and-pad icon on the lower-right corner of your screen. Once you create a new note, you will want to tap on the List icon just above the Viral Keyboard.

Choose whether you want to create a new note or save it in an existing note. Tap on the “New note” button on the lower-right or type into an existing note.

You can add a Compose note icon in the Control Center (explained above) and then select Create new note or Resume added at a recent viewing point. Open your Notes app, and tap on either the compose button (the icon with a square and a pen) or open the previously-existing note you wish to add the list for.

Open the checklist you would like to share and tap the triple dots at the top. Highlight your checklist, right-click, then hit More> Move Checks to Bottom. Highlight items on your checklist that you want to turn into tables, right-click, and select Add Table.

In the top left search field, you can search for the template for the checklist, Checklist Template. From the top of your keyboard, click the Checklist icon (circle with tick) and begin typing.

Keep typing the items in the checklist, tapping on the return key after each to create a new entry. To delete your checklist items, tap on the Trash Can icon on the Toolbar. When you are done creating a checklist, click Done at the top-right of your screen.

To create a checklist on an iPhone (or iPad or iPod Touch), tap the Notes icon from your Home Screen. Not all users are aware how exactly to utilize the rather useful Checklist feature within the built-in Notes app.

There are a number of ways that you can use lists in the Apples Notes app to track various to-do lists. Apple lets you sort through your lists automatically, add a dash, rearrange items, and share them any time you want using the Notes app on an iPhone or iPad.

Thanks to the Notes apps icon on the iOS/iPadOS share sheet, you can easily create a note directly from other apps on your iPhone or iPad, such as Photos. Quick Notes will sync between all of your Apple devices that share the same Apple ID, and you can also see and edit quick notes within the Notes app on an iPhone that is updated to iOS 15. You can now create Quick Notes on iPads and Macs, making it easier to take notes about info, addresses, contact information, links, and more with just one tap.

With Notes for iOS 9, Apple packed a ton of powerful new features, such as deeper sharing of sheets and sketching tools, but one of the more handy additions is the ability to create on-the-fly, interactive lists. Apple Notes offers a few neat features too, such as creating simple lists that can sort by hand or automatically. Many people are unaware of this being pretty simple and are wondering how one could use a checklist within the built-in note app.

When you create a list in the Apples Notes app, small checkboxes will appear next to each list item. Once you share a note-taking, interactive checklist with another person, it appears to them as a non-interactive list of bullet points.

You can also create lists in the Reminders app, but you may feel more comfortable creating lists in the Notes app, or find that using and sharing them easier.

Plus, you can create easy-to-do lists and share them with your team. You can add make a list checkable by linking, embed photos, include sketches, collaborate with others in shared notes, make notes private, and much more. Plus, you can add priorities tasks at the top of your lists, and also make notes.

In notes, you can select three different types of lists for keeping things organized. As you might have guessed, lists are interactive, so it is easy to cross things off your lists, or those created by yourself, to help keep track of progress or to keep score, basically turning your normal notes into a task list. To get around that, you can copy-paste your list of items to Apple Notes, and then convert that into a list.

When you are done editing your notes, there will be a circle in front of each list item you can check, then the list item disappears and you will be able to see you already completed the task. A circle will be displayed on the new note, which indicates you can now start writing the checklist. Then, tap on the grey circle with a plus sign on the right-hand side of the screen, right above your keyboard, to bring up a toolbar that provides quick access to the new notes features.

If thumbnail views are your thing, tap on the triple-dot icon once inside your Notes folder. If your notes icon starts shaking instead, press the Home button below the screen and try again.

If you are using title or headings inside your notes, pressing the Return key on the keyboard of an iPhone or iPad will auto-format the new text after this point to body Text. Of course, you can start every new note with a title or heading automatically, if you want. When creating the note, just add a hashtag symbol and write the words.

Next, tap on Choose notes, select the entries that you want to delete, and finally, tap on delete. To complete creating, you only have to hit Enter three times once the first list is done, then tap on the button again to create lists.

You actually want to make use of the different formatting tools available within the Notes app, so that you can make text bold, italicize, and underline, but there is a lot more that you can do. Google Keep is a free list app that helps you to manage notes and lists using a simple interface. It even comes with a Chrome extension, which allows you to add notes directly from the web browser in no time.

How do you add a checkbox in Mac Notes?

Open the Notes app, and then either open an existing note where you wish to add a checklist, or hit the compose button (an icon with a square and pen). A bar with various symbols will appear in the center of your screen. Click the middle-positioned checklist symbol.

Why is Notes not working on iPhone?

iOS Notes may occasionally stop functioning correctly as a result of poor connectivity between the Notes app and iCloud. If so, you may access iCloud by going to Settings > Your Account. Notes can be disabled from the list and later turned on when some time has passed.
