To remove an Apple Watch from your account, open the Watch app on your iPhone, go to the “My Watch” tab, select the watch you want to remove, and tap on the “i” icon. Tap “Unpair Apple Watch” and enter your Apple ID password to confirm. This will remove the watch from your account.

You can delete the Apple ID on the Apple Watch by removing its activation lock, which erases your information and detaches it from the iPhone. To help safeguard your information in case the watch is lost or stolen, you can configure the Apple Watch to delete its data after 10 successive attempts to unlock it with a bad password. When you detach an Apple Watch, it does not wipe, remove, or remove any messages stored on your iPhone, iCloud, or on any other device that uses the same Apple ID as your Apple Watch.

Once you remove a device, it never shows up on your Apple Devices list again, unless you reconnect to the Internet using your Apple ID login. When you actually remove, your removed device loses its access to any iCloud/Apple services.

To wipe a device clean and remove it entirely, you can go to Settings > General > Reset > Delete All Content & Settings. The previous owners of the device can perform a wipe by entering their password into the activation lock screen, or accessing iCloud.

Once you have completed the backup, your Apple Watch will begin to unpair from the iPhone, and any data that is stored on the Watch, such as the devices Bluetooth history, Apple Pay, passwords, and so forth, will be deleted. If the unpairing is done without an iPhone, any data that was previously unbacked will be lost.
