All you have to do is open up the said photo in that album, long press on it to be presented with a drop down menu, or open to have access to the bottom of the display menu. You will see the delete or remove option there; click on that. The photo will still exist in other folders/albums though.

However, if you are trying to recover your deleted photos, then you should know that they remain in your Trash for about 30 days after deletion. You can access this Trash folder in Photos app and look for recently deleted album. All the photos and videos that you have deleted remains here until emptied or until 60 days have passed since their deletion.
To remove photos from an album on your iPhone, you can download Google Photos and add it to your phone. After that, delete the photos from your album and they will be backed up using the service right inside Google Photos. You can also use a similar method with other social media apps like Shutterfly, Dropbox or any other storage option. If you don’t want to delete the photos right away but still need to free up space on your phone, then iCloud Photos is a great option for you as it includes all of your media in one place.
