The screenshot will either be saved in your Photo Gallery, or the Screenshots folder in the Photos app of the iPhone.

Now, you will hear a familiar sound, and the screenshot from iPhone 7 will be saved to the Camera Roll, and you can open the Camera Roll to see the picture. You will see that your screen flashes white, you will hear the sound capture once you have taken a screenshot. The screen flashes and you can hear the capture noise, indicating you have taken a screenshot.

A screenshot thumbnail appears at the bottom-left of the screen. The screenshot button is located on the right-hand side of the iPhone 7, near the middle. You can capture a screenshot on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus by pressing and holding both the power button (located on the right) and home button together.

If you do not want to use both buttons, there is a possibility to lock your iPhone for you, and just tap on the screen to take a screenshot. If you are still using iPhone models that have a Home button, then you will have to tap both Side and Home buttons simultaneously in order to take screenshots. Taking a screenshot requires the iPhone to be working, which means that the Home button will be functional and you can use it for taking the screenshot. If you do not want this, or you think it is too hard to capture screenshots while pressing the home button and power button, you can take screenshots using the Assistive Touch (virtual home key).

If you are using iPhone that has one key not working, then you can use the Assistive Touch option. On an iPhone 7, go to Settings >> Accessibility (on older iPhones, go to Settings Apps >> General >> Accessibility Settings) and search for Touch > Assistive touch (just Assistive touch on older iPhones) and turn this on, either tapping it, or sliding on older versions of iOS, such as iOS6 and below. Assistive touch is particularly helpful if you are having difficulty pressing buttons, or the buttons are broken on the iPhone 7.

Tap on Settings App >> Tap on General >> Tap on Accessibility >> Scroll down to see AssistiveTouch and enable AssistiveTouch. You can take a screenshot by tapping on the Assistive Touch button twice, or using the menu. Tap AssistiveTouch to bring up the menu, and then tap Device A More A Screenshot. Tap on the AssistiveTouch button on your screen the way you choose (single tap, double tap, long press, or 3-D tap) to take the screenshot.

The taking happens the same way as in the regular button-based iPhone screenshot method. That is almost all you have to do, you are now ready to take a screenshot by simply tapping on the iPhone instead of pressing any physical hardware buttons. If you do not have Assistive Touch on the iPhone 7, you can turn screen capture on your iPhone 7 by holding down both the power and center buttons. Once enabled, you can add a screen grab button to the actions of 3D Touch. You can also use a shortcut for taking a screenshot by double-tapping your Back button.

Quickly let go of the side button, and the screenshot thumbnail appears on the bottom. Pressing this will start a series of black screens, which you will have to tap on to get to the screenshot you want. Once you press those buttons, the screens will flash and the sound of a camera will be played.

This is a big improvement, considering that up to this point, you had to click the two buttons together. The completely different home button is capacitive, but integratedTapic Engine tech allows for a similar feel when clicking, just like on earlier iPhone models, when the buttons were physical. There is a new sensitive Switch button that is powered by an incredible Taptic Engine. However, unplug Apples iPhone 7, and you can see the home button does not really click, instead, the clicking sensation is actually caused by the intelligent vibrations which are generated from the Taptic Engine, the Apples own vibration engine, built into the iPhone 7.

The reason why the DFU and hard reset methods are different is because if your iPhone stops working or gets stuck, then the new Home button does not detect any pressing, so Apple has replaced its gestures. If you are not pressing both buttons together, Siri can open up by accident, or your iPhone can get stuck.

When users upgraded from older iPhones to newer gesture-based iPhone models, they kept hitting the wrong buttons for taking screenshots. It is easy to accidentally hit the screenshot command while iPhone 7 is resting flat. With the iOS 14 update, users can now take a screenshot simply by tapping on the Apple logo on the back of the device.
