How To Turn Off Safe Boot Mac

If the boot mode is listed under Safe Now, exit the Mac OS to the Window. Press Option keys when booting your Mac, unless the MacBook is booted to Safe mode.

Turn on any Mac again holding down power button until recovery mode opens. To force shutdown a Mac directly, you can hold down the power button until your screen goes black. Press and hold the Power key alone until the Mac shows Startup Disk and options.

Turn your Mac on, and keep pressing and holding the power key until you see a window with Startup Options. Choose Apple Menu > Shut Down, hold down the power button until the Startup Options window appears, choose Options, press Continue, and then follow the on-screen instructions. On a Mac, hold Option, and choose Apple Menu > System information.

You can also click on the Apple logo on the top-corner, click About This Mac, then System Report. If your Mac is turned on, navigate to the Apple logo in the Mac menu at the top > About This Mac. If the Mac is still running, then you will have to click on the Apple menu (in the upper-left of your screen) then choose Shut Down.

Wait 20-30 seconds and then press the Power button to power up your Mac. Hold down the Option key until your Mac starts again and you hear a boot sound the second time. Starting up your Intel-based Mac in Safe Mode Turn on or reboot your Mac, and immediately press and hold the Shift key until you see a login box.

There is no specific process for getting out of Safe mode, you just need to reboot the Mac like normal, do not use the Shift key or anything else when your Mac boots. Your Mac will boot up fine, provided that you fixed any boot problems. If your Mac is still not booting, then you need to restore data from your Mac first.

By wiping the System Disk and reinstalling macOS, you should be able to also delete anything that is causing your Mac not to function correctly. After that, if your Mac is working correctly, you should begin to delete newly installed apps and fix your macOS problems. If an issue you are experiencing is still happening while you are in Safe Mode, or your Mac reboots multiple times before it shutdowns, reinstall macOS and check to make sure that your system software and any third-party apps are updated. If macOS reboots or shuts down while you are using Safe Mode, it could be because your Mac has already repaired a problem on the boot drive, in which case your Mac has restarted automatically.

Be patient, do not interrupt the process, or use the power button to turn off macOSs. Booting up will take a little bit longer, because your Mac will do a directory check on the boot drive.

Usually, the above two steps, cleaning and checking keys, combined with the Nvram reset, will solve any issues where your Mac is stuck booting to Secure Mode every time the Mac boots. Safe Mode on a Mac is typically intentionally accessed, and per-boot, by holding down the Shift key when the system reboots or starts up, and then every time the troubleshooting task is completed requiring Safe Mode, the next boot should once again normal. To exit Safe Mode, you can just reboot your Mac normally (without pressing any keys) by selecting Restart in the Apple Menu.

Starting your Mac in Safe Mode means booting the Mac safely, with just the necessary kernel extensions, and this is typically when your Mac cannot boot normally due to software or hardware issues. It is available for all Mac computers such as MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, etc. It allows you to boot the Mac without running certain software such as startup programs, system extensions that are not required by macOS, and fonts that are not installed by macOS. Mac Safe Mode is especially helpful when you want to fix and isolate certain issues that seem not related to using some specific application on your Mac computer, such as the iMac will not boot past Apple logo, the computer reboots due to an issue, the Mac computer does not boot in recovery mode, etc. Most of the time, booting to Safe Mode is sufficient to solve issues caused by small disk errors, outdated system cache, damaged fonts, and more. The best thing is to follow up Safe Mode by restarting the MacBook directly into normal mode.

If you do not see Safe Boot displayed in red at the top-left of your screen, power your Mac down and try it again. On your screen, you may see Safe Boot in (red font) to the top-right. To confirm, on the top-right of your screen, it should read Safe Boot (red text) when you are in your login screen.
