You can disable Shake to Shuffle on the iPhone 12, or on iOS 14 or iOS 15, or on any other series of iPhones (such as the iPhone 13, 12, X, XR,) or on any other series, by going into Settings —> Accessibility Features —> Find the Turn Off Shake To Shuffle function, and toggle it off. If you do happen to activate the shake feature by accident, you can disable it in the Settings app by selecting Accessibility, Touch, Shake to Undo, and turning the toggle off.

To disable the shake, head into the Settings menu and choose the Something is Not Working option. Then, go to Settings and search the options for Shake Reporting or Shake To Un-Do. To turn off Shake to report feature, make sure that device is powered on first. To disable the shake for help?feature, head into the settings on your device.

To disable the shake function on Instagram, first open your account, and then choose the Profile button. If you are sick and tired of shaking up your phone whenever you want to view a photo, you can turn off the shake function of Instagram. This feature is not available yet in the Philippines, but you can try it out by shaking up your phone when Instagram is open. Another new feature on Instagrams app is the option to report an issue by shaking your phone.

Instagrams Rage Shake feature lets you instantly report a bug, saving you the trouble of having to go through a settings menu. After a while, you should be able to swipe normal, but if the feature starts disrupting your scrolling, you can disable the shake function.

If you are sick of shaking the iPhone, you can also reverse things on your phone by using three-finger swipe. Using three fingers from either hand, swipe right to left across your iPhone or iPads screen, and the last change is undone (undo — see the picture below). No longer do you have to look like a stupid person shaking the iPhone or iPad around when you want to undo something on your device.

Now, when you shake your iPhone, whether deliberately or inadvertently, you no longer receive a pop-up asking you whether you would like to undo a previous action. If you made a mistake when you were typing and you would like to erase the previous action, you just need to shake the iPhone.

With Shake to Undo turned on, iOS users can quickly correct mistakes, like shaking to undo text input, shaking to undo archiving of email, shaking to undo type input on the Notes app. Shaking can get quite annoying, and you may wish to turn off Shake to Undo entirely if your iPhone keeps suggesting you undo things when you do not want them to. If you want to undo an error on your iPhone, you need to physically shake the phone, literally as though you were shaking a martini. Your iPhone simply will not register a shake of the device as something to which it needs to respond.

If physically shaking the phone to delete anything typed sounds like a dumb idea (it definitely is, no getting around that), there is one other neat thing you can do instead. Your iPhone has a feature that allows you to shake your device in order to undo specific actions. Instead of having a system-wide undo button or symbol in iOS, you simply have to shake the phone or your iPad. If nothing happens after shaking the device, it is either turned off with option one, or nothing is available for undo.

If you have turned this alert off on Google Maps, shaking the device will result in triggering Shake to undo and Redo on iOS features, unless, of course, you or someone else has turned off Shake to undo in iOS on an iPhone or iPad. If you do not want to see a Shake to Send Feedback notification, that is going to show up in Google Maps iOS. Anyway, although shaking your iPhone or iPad around to undo and redo actions can be helpful, it can also be annoying and triggers when you did not mean it to, and for users who wish, they can opt to turn off the Shake to Undo feature in iOS. While Shake to Undo on the iPhone is an accessibility feature designed to help make text removal easier for those with limited movement, it can be a bit finicky.

To un-delete an email, or to undo another action within Mail, just rest the iPhone or iPad in a steady position, shake it for a second, and then tap on the screen with Undo. If you ever want to enable Shake to Undo again, just repeat the steps above and toggle the single-action to On (green).

Next, tap on the circular AssistiveTouch button that is overlaid on the screen, go to Devices -> More -> Shake, and tap on Undo in the confirmation message. If you would like to do multiple taps to shake on an iPhone or iPad, you can head over to the top level Custom menu under the AssistiveTouch preferences, and add shake to the top menu. You can also select Single-Tap, Double-Tap, or Long-Press and assign Shake to the Single-Tap, so that you will not have to even open the menu.
