How To Use Mac Without Mouse

You can Mac without Mouse or Keyboard with the help of Siri. For example, if you have Hey Siri, simply you can say “Hey Siri, turn on Bluetooth” and the bluetooth will immediately turn on, and the mouse or keyboard should connect to the Mac momentarily.

In this short tutorial, we are going to show how you can enable the Mouse Keys feature and use it to move your mouse pointer and click your mouse buttons using only your keyboard or a digital keyboard. With Mouse Keys enabled, you can use your Macs keyboard to control the mouse pointer. So, once the “Enable Mouse Keys” option is enabled, use the following keys to efficiently move your cursor across your screen. If you wish to use the right mouse button, hold down the Control key and hit 5 or I on the keyboard.

Hitting the right-click key on a mouse usually opens a menu, which allows you to select commands quickly. Keep in mind that, without having clicked on something previously using the | key, a right-click menu will simply show up as a generic drop-down box on the corner of your screen. You can then move around here using the arrow keys, and either enter or spacebar to select whatever options you may care about. As in the Menu Bar, you can use the arrow keys to navigate through the dock, as well as open and close the Dock Item Menu; hit Return to select an item.

The arrow keys can be used to move a selection; pressing Spacebar previews a selected item, Command+Down opens the item, or Command+I gets you more information. If you are moving around in the menu, and you want to return to the menu bar, hit the arrow keys right or left (as long as no sub-menu items are selected). Press down to choose a particular destination, such as Recent, Downloads, iCloud Drive, etc. Hit enter to go in, and use the arrow keys to move around further.

To choose another menu, use the Left or Right Arrow keys to move around; you will see one of the menus highlighted, such as the Browse menu below. Use the computers arrow keys to select that option from the Start menus top, if needed, and press | Enter.

Once you have done that, use the Tab key to highlight the keyboard preferences tab, then navigate to the Shortcuts tab using the arrow keys. The tab button is used to highlight the various sections of the window that you are in, and pressing and holding that key switches between each selected section of your screen. When navigating webpages, forms, and dialog boxes on a Mac, you can use the tab key to quickly toggle through each box, rather than clicking one field after another. Full keyboard access lets you switch keyboard focus among all controls with the Tab key.

Enabling it will allow you to use the tab button, a key that is really essential to navigate efficiently on and around your iMac. Before starting to use the iMac without the mouse, you will want to turn on the Full Keyboard Controls option in System Preferences. If your Macs touchpad or mouse stops working, or if you have a mobility impairment that limits how you move, you may want to enable a function that lets you control the cursor on the screen with the keyboard.
