Just like with Pangu, the TaiG jailbreak is a China-based jailbreak, and as such, the website and the installation instructions are primarily in Chinese, but TaiG has recently introduced a English-language version of its website and its jailbreak tools, making the process slightly easier to follow, and this walkthrough guide will walk you through the jailbreak process for an iPhone or iPad running iOS 8.1.2. There are other programs out there to jailbreak the latest iOS, but we recommend using the TaiG tool since we had a secure experience using that software.

Now users can accelerate their older devices by downgrading to iOS 8.4.1 as well as jailbreak the device using the EtasonJB jailbreak. If you have backed up your iPhone or iPad prior to the jailbreak and installing a clean version of iOS 8, it is now time to restore your backup. Make sure to back up your device using either iCloud or iTunes prior to trying a jailbreak. That is, you absolutely need to backup your data either on iCloud or on your PC via iTunes prior to attempting a jailbreak.

Keep in mind that just jailbreaking is not going to get you very far–you also have to install Cydia to the iPhone, iPhone, or iPod touch. The release of iOS version 8.1.1 IOS version 8.1.1 brought some badly needed bug fixes to Apples mobile OS, but along with that came the fix to the Pangus jailbreak method, which works for iOS 8.0 through iOS 8.1 using either a Mac or a Windows machine. The Taig Team has updated its jailbreak to work on iOS 8.1.2, which was released by Apple to fix a few bugs and address the issue that ringtones purchased via the iTunes store might have been removed from your device.
