Iphone Sort Contacts By First Name

It is extremely easy to sort out your contact names by first name in your iPhone. All you have to do is open the settings app, and then tap on contacts. From the newly appeared menu, you will have the option of sort order; click on that. The last step is to choose the “first, last” option.

You can also sort contacts by first name in the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 11, order contacts alphabetically by first name in the MacBook, transfer the iPhones contact lists onto a flash drive, then share them in emails and social media apps such as WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook, and Twitter. You can create a shortcut in Shortcuts app that shows a list of newly added contacts in iPhone. There are several ways you can sort contacts on the iPhone and iPad, so you can sort them however you like.

Our tutorial below will take you through to your iPhone Contacts settings menu to tweak your sorting order on all your contacts. Before we get into the process of sorting iPhone contacts by first name or last name, by first or last name alphabetically, or adding or deleting a contact, and adding and showing nicknames, you will want to understand the difference between Sort order and Display Order.

Even if the sort order is changed to first, last, but Display Order is set to last, first, the contact list will show up by first name letter, but the contacts name will be last name first followed by the first name. If you would like to display names on contacts in a specific manner regardless of how contacts are ordered, you can adjust the Display Order. You can remove contacts to help keep the list short, or you can tweak how the contacts are sorted.
