According to Apples water-resistant iPhone 11 specifications on its website, the iPhone 11 can be immersed in a maximum depth of two meters (about 6.6 feet) for up to 30 minutes, while the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max can go underwater for up to 30 minutes in a maximum depth of four meters (about 13 feet).

Because their iPhone 11 is just water-resistant, and not waterproof, you cannot take it swimming, or engage in any kind of water-based activities. Now that we know the iPhone 11 is not waterproof (only water-resistant), it is not surprising Apple is telling people to avoid swimming or bathing with the iPhone. Since an iPhone 11 is not waterproof, Apple does not advise you to swim or bathe with your iPhone 11.

Because it has a Protection against Ingress (IP) rating of IP68, according to International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), The iPhone 11 would be damaged by high-pressure water or steam. The iPhone 11 should be okay if you splash some water onto the iPhone 11, but the IP rating does not cover liquid damage caused by other things, such as soda, beer, milk, or coffee.
