You can run kali Linux on MacBook easily. You may install it from the Apple store or by signing in to iCloud.com. The free version of the kali Linux app may be applicable for about 90 days and then you should pay some dollars for its activation.

You can now boot to a Live/Installer environment for Kali using a USB device. Insert both of your USB drives, and press Alt and choose the EFI Boot option to start the live installer. To begin installation, turn the device on, then press and hold Option immediately until the boot menu appears.

Once the installer is finished, run VirtualBox from the Applications folder. Then, click on the folder icon to browse to your appliances files, and choose Open. Click on the smaller folder icon and browse to the Kali ISO that you downloaded in Step 2 above.

Make sure Source is set to Local Filesystem (assuming your appliances files are on your computer). Make sure to download the right files for the VM Software.
