Lenovo Vs Macbook

The macbook performs better than Lenovo ThinkPad as it has high-performance processors. But the ThinkPad has higher GPU options due to which it has greater graphical performance. It has more ports and more storage as compared to the MacBook. So, you may choose MacBook as a better option.

You are probably wondering whether the Apple is worth the price of Apple, or whether you are better off sticking with Lenovo, which is priced less. Be sure to read on to find out when it is better to stick with Apple, and when Lenovo is the better choice. If you are in the market for a laptop for yourself, you might be considering an Apple versus Lenovo laptop. When you are looking to make the move to Windows, here are our recommendations for laptops to fill that MacBook-sized hole in your life.

If you want more than what those two choice work laptops provide, then you are likely best served with a workstation-style portable, or simply with the top-tier computing options offered by MacBook Pro. With the MacBook Pro using the latest version of Apples macOS, and Lenovo running Windows 11 Pro, these two choice business laptops deliver the best versions of the relevant software for Windows and Mac today. There are plenty of differences between these two top-performing laptops, too: starting with the operating systems (macOS for the MacBook Pro, Windows 10 for the latest Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon), but also including the laptops display options, port diversity, and security. That is not enough to put the Lenovo ThinkPad over, as the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbons could offer similar strengths in areas the latter typically excels, such as design and durability.

When it comes to display size, Lenovos latest ThinkPad X1 Carbon has a small edge thanks to a 14-inch screen that makes it 5% larger than the 13.3-inch display in MacBook Pros powered by its top-of-the-line M1 processor. It is heavier than the MacBook, but it is not significantly larger, particularly given the larger 17-inch screen. Plus, the MacBook Air has a similar screen size to Apples lower-tier notebook lines. Lenovos ThinkPad has a slight advantage over the MacBook Pro, since it manages to squeeze 14 displays in a body nearly as thick and large as a MacBook.

A properly equipped ThinkPad has always challenged MacBook laptops on the basis of general build quality, and is generally considered to be one of the toughest laptops for the business class, having passed several military-standard durability tests. It also outperforms the MacBooks in the keyboard department, offering pronounced feedback, shorter key travel, reliable switches, and a generally satisfying typing experience. The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 is probably going to be the pick that most people will favor, particularly because the laptop comes with Wi-Fi 6 compatibility, better biometrics, and an optional touch screen for added flexibility. Ultimately, although both devices excel at workstation tasks and work great, we believe the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 is going to be a better choice for most people because it is more affordable and has a few nice features the MacBook Pro does not.

Yes, Lenovos ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 5 may be faster than the latest MacBook Pro 16, but to achieve those levels of performance, it is going to draw on plenty of horsepower. We do not expect the ThinkPad X1 Nano to run on battery for nearly as long as a MacBook Air, either. The ThinkPad X13s, however, really gets good battery life, and has a big advantage in its 5G connectivity, but as long as some Windows-on-ARM wrinkles are not ironed out, Apple continues to hold a big advantage. While the ThinkPad X13s makes some great gains in the Windows on ARM camp, it is still lagging behind what Apple has done with the MacBook Air M1 when it comes to performance.

Setting aside questions about touchscreen capabilities and screen size, the MacBook Pro offers a bit better color quality and higher peak brightness than our Lenovo review unit. Here, Apples MacBook Pro wins by a wide margin, lasting almost 22 hours on our battery test, compared to the 12-hour runtime on Lenovo. Lenovos screen is matte, a little brighter, supports HDR, and is also available as a touch screen, whereas Apple offers more pixels and the wider P3 color gamut. Lenovo packs a LED-backlit, 15.6-inch screen into the Legion 5, whereas Apple packs a Liquid Retina XDR 16.2-inch display with micro LEDs.

Both these laptops come with a full-HD webcam, too, although the ThinkPad X1 Extreme has the benefit of including an IR sensor for face recognition with Windows Hello. Both devices also feature beastly GPUs, which are great for productivity on the visual media, although the Radeon Pro GPU on the MacBook Pro is noticeably superior to the NVIDIA Quadro Card on the Lenovo ThinkPad P1.

The larger dimensions are probably because of larger bezels around the screen, and the inside components requiring more cooling, but the ThinkPad X1 Extreme still manages to be lighter (4.14 pounds) than the latest MacBook Pro 16. Despite having almost the same thickness (0.6 inches for the Lenovo, and 0.61 inches for the MacBook Pro), the X1 Carbon is fully a half-pound lighter than the 3lbs MacBook Pro. If you use your MacBooks for hours every day, you are going to appreciate Apples laptops superior fit and finish. While a new MacBook does not come cheap, you do not need to break the bank.

Now, the latter has a more modern key mechanism, making the MacBooks keyboard clicky, but with a much shorter travel distance. The latter has an Ole Touch Bar strip running down the top of the keyboard. On the MacBook Air M1, you get the Magic Keyboard with backlighting, along with the Force Touch tactile trackpad and a fingerprint sensor in the power button. As is typical for Windows 11 Pro machines, Lenovo offers a touchscreen as an option, whereas the MacBook Pro does not: Instead, the MacBook Pro has a narrow OLED strip called Touch Bar in front of the keyboard, allowing limited touch interactions.

Oh, and like the MacBook Air M1, there are speakers on the left and right sides of the keyboard deck in the ThinkPad X13s. Both the MacBook Pro and X1 Carbon feature multi-microphone arrays to help you clearly communicate during virtual meetings, but Lenovo leads again the MacBook Pro with its use of a four-microphone system with Dolby Voice for filtered out environmental noise, whereas Apple equips the MacBook Pro with just three mics.
