Measure Distance Google Maps Iphone
Open the Google Maps app on your iPhone or iPad. Anywhere on the map that isn’t a place’s name or emblem should be touched and held. the option to measure distance. The next point you wish to add should be on the map where the black circle is. Tap Add point in the lower right corner.
In this walkthrough, we are going to take a look at how you can measure distances between coordinates on Google Maps, whether it is via a browser on a PC, or a phone, whether it is Android or iPhone. Similar to Google Maps, you can install and use The Google Maps App to measure distances between two points from the convenience of your smartphone. Google Maps measuring distance features let you measure distances like a raven flying between two points, or draw a sketchy path between two points, which could come in handy when you want to use Google Maps on the new Pixel Watch to time your morning runs.
To measure a distance between two or more points on Google Maps, touch and hold anywhere on the map to pop up a red pin, then tap on the place name on the bottom of the screen. Repeat the steps mentioned above to label and measure a total distance between different points on your map. You can mark as many waypoints as necessary in order to measure the total distance between starting and ending points on your map.
The total distance measured, between starting and ending points, will adjust automatically. As you continue selecting points, the distance between the start and end points will adjust accordingly. Click a second point on the map to find the distance to that point.
Click the second location, or the endpoint, to plot a route that you would like to measure. Tap to mark a second location on your map to measure and see the straight-line distance between marked points. Once marked, you can view the straight-line distance you have measured between the marked points on top of the map, measured in meters, feet, miles, and kilometers, respectively.

Select the “Draw new line” option and tap on the first point in the map to begin measuring straight-line distances to your mark points. Tap and hold the location in the map you want to begin measuring. When the pop-up disappears, move the map around until your target is placed on a new position you want to measure. If you wish to reposition the spot where you are measuring, you simply need to click and hold on the white point at each end of the line, then drag and drop it over to your new position.
To add a different location, just move your map over it, then tap “Add point” to mark it. Move the map until a circle or crosshair is over the second location.
Next, move the map so that a black crosshair is added to the following points that you wish to add. Next, swipe across the screen and choose “Measure Distance,” and move the native Google Maps Google App using your finger to place the crosshairs (black circles) on the second point you want to add. From here, you can then tap and drag Google Maps for iOS on any location and at the bottom left, it will update distances in real-time. After every new location, you will see the distance updated in the bottom part of the page.
Then, you will see both total terrain and the distance in feet at the bottom of the screen. You will see a little box at the bottom of the screen showing you how far away you are from where you started from your destination. Now, select a starting location, and you should see directions appear on the screen.
A pop-up on the page shows you how far apart all of the points are on the map. The distances between points are shown in a bar on the bottom of the screen. You can see the associated distances in metres/kilometres at the top of the Measure app on the map.
Depending on your preferences, you can configure The Maps app to show distances and turn directions in kilometers and meters, or miles and feet. Google offers a simple way to switch the distance units of preference within the Maps app. An even faster way to change your distance measurements is within Apple Maps itself, where you tap on your profile photo, select Preferences, and then perform a switch.
While measuring, you can add points as you go, tapping “Add point”. If you wish to include more routes, tap on the bottom-right “Add Point” button, and measure your total distance with ease. You can drop the point on your start and can also add additional points between them to find out the total distance for multiple routes, or for a complete trip. Add lets you measure routes, but also the distances only between two points, or figure out total distances for a round trip.

So using the points and ruler tools, you can create any kind of complex route. Even better, you can add more points and view distances along your route as a whole. You even have an option to compute distances between more than one point. If you add more than one point, then the measurements you see are distances along a chosen route, rather than the actual distance between the points (as a crow would fly).
So, you can find a quick distance in straight lines between two cities, or an approximation of the distance on a non-rectangular path, placing a few points as breadcrumbs. One convenient feature is the ability to measure real-world distances between any number of selected points. To perform a measurement, choose a region that has several points, and be sure to cover the region at your initial point (as shown below). We can add the intermediate steps to a measure by beginning a measurement and pressing the left-side button in the map, to be able to perform distance calculations based on several different points.
