It is been a week or so now, and AppleInsider likes some of the improvements that Apple has made. The entire lineup of Apple products has been refreshed and updated, but there are always a few extra features to dive in.
With WatchOS 9, Apple has not only added three new watch faces, it has updated a few older ones. The watch faces are a more surface-level change coming in watchOS 9, but Apple is leveling out its yet-to-be-released software updates with core fitness and health features. The four new watch faces are intended to broaden what is possible with Apple Watch, and they are coming alongside watchOS 9 this fall. Even without the third-party faces, watchOS 9 is still expected to bring a few new design faces for Apple users.

Plus, both watchOS 9 and watchOS 8 allow you to create custom watch faces for the Apple Watch using a few third-party apps. With watchOS 7, Apple opened up the landscape of watch faces for third parties, which now have the ability to make and sell their own faces. Just like how the world has moved on from using social media for uploading and showing off images, Apple has taken another step forward with creating a watch face that shows off your photos without effort.
Apple has also added new medical features in WatchOS 9 via Medications App. Apple announced WatchOS 9 today, featuring a number of new enhancements including new watch faces, a revamped Exercise app, Sleep Stages, AFib History features, a brand-new Medication app, and much more. WatchOS 9 comes with features such as better sleep tracking and a new Medication Reminders app, as well as new, updated watch faces.
Meridian brings a polished look to the watch, but it is still slightly playful. Metropolitan is a clean, minimal look, which is perfect for both casual and semi-formal situations.

The classy Metropolitan face seems ideal for both casual and semi-formal settings, and you could even wear it for formal meetings, but personally, I would stick to the simpler Watch Faces for those situations, such as the California face.

One of my personal favorite new watch faces on WatchOS 9, The Metropolitan is a clean-looking watch face that manages to feel minimalist, even while supporting four complications at the corners. One of the newest Apple Watch faces that makes an appearance in the new watchOS 9, Metropolitan features a minimal design with support for up to four complications around the corners. The modular watch face does indeed include complications, but I would recommend turning all of those off, leaving only your date complications for the cleanest, minimal Apple Watch appearance that you can achieve.
The Modular Compact, Modular, and X-Large faces have been updated in WatchOS 9 to include a wider variety of colors and gradients that will suit your mood while customizing the Apple Watch. Watches are an integral part of your daily attire, and in the modern era of digital watches, you can get much more creative in the way you wear the watch.

At WWDC 2022, Apple showed off a bunch of new, fresh watch faces which are going to be coming with WatchOS 9 that are going to liven up Apple Watch WatchOS 9. Of course, there is more when Apple releases watchOS 9 later this year.
Sleep tracking is getting better again in WatchOS 9, and there are lots of new features focused on health, including heart-rate zones, etc. Apple showed off some of its new fitness features, which are focused around providing more data on your exercise, including heart rate zones, as well as more data overall about your physical health. Apple Watch comes with many features for tracking your health, like step counting, heart rate monitoring, ECG monitoring, a SPO2 sensor which is very helpful when you are taking COVID, and many others. Apple watches come with a variety of features like counting steps, measuring heart rate, sleep, calories burned, and more. The newest Apple watches, which are Series 6 and 7, let you also keep track of blood oxygen levels.
In terms of health and fitness tracking, it feels a bit like Apple is playing catch-up to the other, more dedicated watches, but maybe this is expected. The enhanced Workout Apple Watch app has been updated with more granular metrics to gauge performance, along with new workout experiences that will guide users toward their fitness goals.
Other noteworthy features announced by Apple, but not demonstrated, include a home key for kids, a background-color editor for watch faces, and cross-device connectivity. I liked the Buddywatch, as the Buddywatch free version was enough for me to enjoy the variety of new faces, and was simple to use.
To get the best out of the Watch app, you need to pay the premium price, which is $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year, with a one-week free trial. Once you have downloaded an image, you are able to use it without paying for the Watch app. If you are not interested in having access to the new images, you can pay for one month, download as many backgrounds as you like–all of Apples luxurious watch faces, for instance–and then cancel your subscription.
While Astronomy does not display much in the way of complications beyond the battery percentage, it is one of the best Apple Watch faces out there if you are more about the shape than the features.
Will Apple add new watch faces?
New faces are added to Apple’s watchOS with each update. World Time and Portraits were introduced to watchOS 8 in 2021 for all compatible watches, and the Apple Watch Series 7 received new Contour and Modular Duo faces as well. To make the watch feel more unique, you may combine these faces with ones from earlier versions.
Are some Apple Watch faces exclusive?
All owners of Apple Watches will be able to download those faces for free thanks to watchOS 9’s new features. Exclusiveness no longer exists. Nike offers Analogue, Bounce, Compact, Digital, and Hybrid watch face designs. These faces will be available to every Apple Watch that can update to watchOS 9.
