Up front, iPhone 5C is all glass, with a better front-facing 1.2-megapixel camera, an earpiece, and sensors on top of the screen, and a home button underneath. The front-facing FaceTime camera is similar on the twenty-one different iPhone 5, all of them having 1.2MP sensors and shooting 720p video, but the iPhone 5 has 1.75um pixels while the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s both have 1.9um pixels, something iLounge also documented, meaning in the real world, the latter models performance under poor lighting is improved, though subtle.

In addition to low light performance, another key area where the other top cameras may outperform the iPhone 5cs is depth of field effects. When you go down to pixel level, the iPhone 5Cs camera — predictably — captured similar levels of detail as the iPhone 5. Like the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5cs has a really nice HDR mode, which blends two different exposures together to lessen overexposure and improves the amount of detail in the shadows in photos. The biggest difference is that each iPhone 5cs default wallpaper matches the phones color, right out of the box.
