QuickType is Apple’s predictive keyboard that gets smarter as you use it. It is an affordable, easy-to-use alternative to many of the typical Augmentative. Go to Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Text Replacement, and you’ll see a list of all the shortcuts that are currently set up on your iPhone.
The sentence is a longer chunk of text you are going to put in, whereas a shorthand is something you are going to type in actuality. Now, when you want to type something shorter, simply type in your shortcut and hit return, or select from an auto-suggest which appears over your keyboard. This useful function brings up a selection of words that you may be about to type right above the keyboard, so that you can click the word instead of finishing your type. If you need to type just one number or character, just tap and hold on the keyboards shift keys, then swipe to the desired key. If you are typing numbers, you will usually have to tap to transition to a numbers keyboard, press the number (or a number sequence), and tap back to return to your main fonts keyboard. This is nice for when you only have to enter one or two number digits from the numbers keyboard, then quickly go back to type.
When you want to use that other keyboard, you can touch and hold the globe icon at the lower-left corner of your keyboard, then swipe to whichever you would like to use. To switch back and forth between the keyboards, simply tap on the globe and switch your keyboard.

Press and hold down on the Spacebar, and move your finger around on the keyboard to choose the exact spot you want to fix the word, or type in a new word. Next time you are using your iPhone or iPads keyboard, type the shorthand, then press space to make it expand to the full sentence.

Tap the word from the QuickType bar you want to add to your message, and continue typing or adding words as QuickType anticipates them.
If you type in a word that QuickType does not recognize, or suggests something different to use, QuickType displays your spelling as quotes to the left. The keyboard will analyse the text you have typed so far, and offer words that it thinks you are likely to type next. The quicktype keyboard is hit-or-miss functionality, since predictions might not always be what we want to use.
