Side Button On Iphone 12

The iPhone Side button is located to the right. The screen of your smartphone may be turned on or off by clicking the Side button. You generally double-click with the Side button on your iPhone to confirm a transaction when using Apple Pay or making a purchase from the App Store.

You can adjust the accessibility settings of either the Side Button (on iPhones with Face ID) or Home Button (on other iPhone models). Instead of using an iPhones Home button to navigate back to the home page, users can simply swipe upwards from the bottom of the screen. You cannot, however, double-tap the Home button, nor use a solid swipe with the 3D Touch to pull up a multitasking interface and the quick app switcher.

There are two ways to power down your iPhone 12, but the easiest and most effective is by using the button located on the side of your iPhone 12. To turn on the new iPhone 12, simply hold down the Side/Power button. On older iPhones, you would press and hold the Side (Power) button until you saw a Slide to Power Off option to turn your phone off. Since iPhones Power button is non-functional, we are going to need to use either Assistive Touch or the Settings app to turn the iPhone off (and then back the iPhone on).

Regardless of the iPhone 12 model, you can easily disable the Power Off Sequence via the Settings app. After using any of the two methods, needless to say, you will have to swipe down on the Slide To Power Off icon on your screen on the right-hand side in order to power down your iPhone 12. Now, just slide the Power icon to the right, and your new iPhone 12 will begin shutting down.

Tap on the Shut Down, and then use the slide-to-power-off bar to turn your iPhone off. Once you have used one of these button sequences, drag the Slide to power off bar to the right.

To reboot the phone, tap the AssistiveTouch button from your Home Screen, then tap Reboot. Now, tap the Accessibility features On-screen button that appears, and tap Devices > More > Restart. You can also turn on AssistiveTouch, the accessibility feature that lets you lock the screen, turn the phone off, and reboot the iPhone with a touch.

Starting in iOS 13, you can now restart your iPhone entirely hands-free using voice control, another accessibility feature. Now, Accessibility features let you restart the iPhone using voice commands – no Siri required. Using this option will turn off and restart your iPhone, cutting you off from doing at least half of the work.

For the iPhone X and newer, there is no physical home button on your device, but you can add one on the touchscreen if you would like. You can also add additional icons to the AssistiveTouch menu using the plus and minus buttons. The Assistive Touch function acts like a virtual Home Button on your screen, where you choose which tasks that the button does, like controlling volume, turning your device off, and even rebooting. Back Tap gives your phone an interesting new “button” that muddles the distinction between hardware and software. With Rear Tap, the entire back of your iPhone is transformed into a sizable touch-sensitive button that you can double- or triple-tap to activate particular phone features.

What is the weird thing on the side of the iPhone 12?

The panel is a 5G antenna, which is both fascinating and boring. It’s specifically for the mmWave variant of 5G, which is extremely fast and short-range (millimeter wave). Any small assistance this type of 5G can get to get the signal into and out of the iPhone will be greatly appreciated because this type of 5G is notoriously weak over long distances.
