Turn Off Group Messaging Iphone
Messages sent to numerous recipients are sent as separate messages when the setting is off. To block group texts on an iPhone, open the Messages app and choose which group texts you would like to block. If you would like to send group MMS messages on iPhone, you will need to check whether or not the group messaging function has been turned on as well. As long as the MMS settings are correctly configured, you will be able to send group messages to any of your friends, whether they are using an Apple iPhone or non-Android device. When you send group messages using MMS, Apple will also use MMS through the iPhone users cell phone provider, and show replies to the group through the iMessage app. An iMessage group is filled with Apple users relying on Apples IM service for texting and media sharing, while an SMS/MMS group includes a mix of Apple and non-Apple users.
If you cannot get out, then one or more users are probably not using Apple devices that have the Apple IM service enabled. With SMS/MMS groups, you can leave only if there are at least three people present in the group, and they are all using Apple devices. You can leave a group SMS message if three others are in the group, and they are all using an Apple device, such as iPhone or iPad. If some people on a group chat are using Android phones or different apps instead of Messages on iOS, you will be on the standard group message, and there is no way to leave a group text via Messages.
If your Android phone uses another texting app, such as Samsung phones Messages or Google Messages, then the process of leaving a group text might be different. You might find that you would like to leave a group text on the Messages app, but, for whatever reason, you cannot. Sometimes, your iPhone does not allow you to leave a group chat in the Messages app. In the following steps, we show how you can leave group chats in iPhones Messages app.

Once you leave the conversation on your iPhone, you no longer receive notifications from group texts, but you still receive calls and see single messages from the other members of the group. You will not see any messages from the group text again, unless you come back and tap on the Bell to accept them again. If you do not want to keep a conversation going on your iPhone, but do not want to see messages for a while, you can also hide alerts.
In case, you are already inside a groups text window, tap on the name near the top of the text window, and toggle on “Hide alerts”. If you are using the iPhone, open the group text in question, tap on the i icon at the top-right corner of the screen, and swipe down to the Hide Alerts switch. You will want to tap just below the status bar, over the images or initials of the people who are part of the Group Chat.

You can tell whether or not everyone in the Group is using an iOS device because your bubble for a text will be blue, while theirs will appear grey. If any member of your group is an Android user, or members own an iPhone and have the “iMessage” option turned off, the text bubbles will appear green. To receive notifications about messages in which a group member mentions you, tap Command+Comma(,).
If not, you can also go to Settings > Messaging, and then toggle IMessages to Off. If the Leave This conversation option is not shown, that means that someone on your group text does not have iMessage turned on, or is not running the latest version of iOS. At least one person has both iMessage Group MMS turned off, and they are sending and receiving messages out of the group.
Most of Group iMessages features are unavailable, and all people can send and receive media and view all messages within a group chat. With this, it is easy to chat with more than one person at once, which allows to send one message which will be visible for all in the group.
If you cannot seem to get group messages working correctly, or your group messages are appearing as part of separate message conversations with individual people within a group conversation, group messaging might not be enabled on your iPhone. Some app features are known to turn off when updating an iPhone, so you might want to check whether or not group messaging is enabled. It is possible the feature allowing group texting on your iPhone has been turned off, and all you have to do is turn it back on to solve the issue.
You can fix this issue of group texts on your iPhone malfunctioning quickly and easily simply by rebooting the FoneGeek iOS system recovery. There is a chance group/MMS messaging has been disabled either due to an iOS update or an inadvertent action.
Going to the Messages app and swiping left on the group conversation to remove it will make sure that you are not receiving any more messages from this group. To delete a group conversation, head to your messages and select the conversation you would like to delete, then swipe left over it and tap on Delete. You can silence future updates to prevent the phone from constantly alerting you whenever someone replies to the group conversation.
For Android users, an equivalent of iMessage called Chat does not let users quit a conversation altogether. All of the iMessage Group features are available–media attachments, messaging effects, sharing locations, naming groups–and anyone can add or remove group members.
