Turn Off Quick Note Mac
Select System Preferences by opening the Apple menu. Choose Desktop & Screen Saver from the category list. The Screen Saver tab should be selected. Choosing Hot Corners. Click Blank (—) in the bottom-right Quick Note hot spot. To apply the changes, click OK. The box for the Quick Note shortcut is ticked on the right.
You can configure Quick Notes to always create a new Notes file, or open the most recently opened file, under the preferences for Apples Notes. When you activate it, the Notes app opens to a quick view of a new file, which you can immediately begin using. A Sheet will pop up, and when you tap on it, Apples Notes launches, opening a Notes file.
Select the native Apple Notes app from the Apps folder, or locate it via Spotlight search. Open the Notes app on your iPhone and tap on the Folder button at the top-left. Open the Finder on your Mac and tap on the Applications folder on the sidebar. Go to the top-left of the screen on your Mac, and click the Apple Menu to select System Preferences.
A photo of your Macs display will appear at the center of your Mission Control settings window, with four flyout menus at each corner. As an alternate method to turn on the Hot Corners for Quick Notes, you can choose Mission Control in the preferences, and then choose Hot Corners at the bottom left. If you are not comfortable with appearing, you can either edit a designated Hot Corner, or turn it off to turn off the Quick Note function.
Selecting the – option disables Hot Corners functionality, and a new Quick Note function will not be active anymore when you hover your mouse on the lower-right hand side of the device. Click on the bottom right corner where Quick Note appears, and then choose a different option from the drop-down menu that appears, or select – if you do not wish to use Hot Corners at any time. If you updated your Mac to macOS Monterey or higher, Quick Notes feature can be activated by placing your cursor on the bottom-right corner of your screen.
Simply by hovering the cursor over the lower-right corner of the screen, a new field will pop up in Notes app to take a quick peek. We can select to have the quick note app not open when the cursor moves across the bottom right of the screen, unless the Command key is held down simultaneously. That way, you will have to hold Command, Shift, Option, or Control keys (or some combination thereof) when moving your mouse through the appropriate corners in order to trigger Quick Note. Click on the drop-down box for your bottom-right bottom-right and set it to — meaning that nothing happens when you move the cursor over the bottom-right of the screen.
Place the cursor in how-corner and you will be free to begin taking notes whenever you like. You can tap the little square to begin a new note, or you can continue pushing the cursor into a corner to make it a bigger button, New quick note. It is a button, and clicking on it brings up a bigger one, which includes a checkbox to actually create the new note. If you would like to edit Quick Notes location, open Settings-Control Center, and in Included Controls, tap and hold on the three lines near Quick Note, then drag and drop accordingly.

You can still tap the Quick Note title, and, say, bring up the entire note in the same standalone window that you got when you created it. Here, you can make changes to notes, share them, or even delete them, depending on what you choose. If you really want to make a new note, simply start up the Notes app as you would any normal person right now. Simply move the mouse pointer down to the lower-right part of your display, and you will see a little instance of the Notes app. The Notes app pops up instantly, allowing you to instantly write a completely new thought.

Click on that, and Notes launches a brand new note, ready for typing and formatting. Once you have selected your account, uncheck the box for notes to be finalized. Select Notes > Accounts from menu options that are available from your Macs Notes app.
If you are using another app to make notes, or if you catch yourself accidentally turning the feature on, you can change it or turn it off. While this specific shortcut for Apple Notes was introduced in MacOS Monterey, the function used to implement it was present on MacOS decades before. It certainly requires that you are using Apple Notes – but that may be a reason to migrate over to this application as well. The second criticism is that, in fact, it does not use Apple Notes entirely, but uses a new subset of it.

Because the iPhones lower edge is reserved for the Home bar, which lets you use gestures to navigate through your iPhones interface, Apple was unable to integrate the new Quick Notes function, like Apple does with Macs and iPhones. The easiest way to keep Quick Note from opening when you move the cursor over the lower-right part of your screen is to either disable this feature in macOS Monterey, or to run Quick Notes on the opposite side of the screen. You are free to enable this feature again at any time, and you can even toggle swiping so it works from the left side of the screen instead of the right.
You can, however, link to a current Safari page by tapping on the link button, so a note is made with a link inside. While Quick Notes is useful for taking notes while using any application on the Mac, it is annoying that you will accidentally make a new note every time you navigate to a designated hot corner. At least initially, whenever you created a note and were done working with it, you would be auto-prompted to press Command-S to save it.
You could always make a quick note on the Mac, if anything, just by opening TextEdit and typing. Apps such as Evernote make quick work of writing in the notebook on your menu bar, while ones such as Drafts 5 let you create a blank note at a stroke. You can access Quick Notes on the iPad using shortcuts in your keyboard, as long as the iPad is connected to Apples external keyboard.
How do Quick Notes work on macOS?
Open a webpage on your Mac’s Safari software, then choose the text you wish to highlight. Click the text with the control key, then select New Quick Note or Add to Quick Note. The text in Safari is highlighted, and a link appears in the Quick Note. Later, the highlighted text is still there when you revisit the website.
