Can I Ping My Airpods
You may play a sound to assist you locate your AirPods if they are Bluetooth-connected and close to any of your Apple devices. You may also play a sound with AirPods Pro (2nd generation) to aid in finding your charging case. Get the Find My app open. Choosing the Devices tab.
You can change the AirPods that the Chirp sounds are playing from by tapping either the L or R buttons within the Find My App. If your AirPods are charged and in range of an Apple device with Bluetooth support, you can also make your headphones play the useful chirping sound through the Find My app. If you need additional assistance finding the earbuds, which are detached from their cases, and the AirPods are nearby another of your Bluetooth-enabled Apple devices, you can assist in the search with the useful chirping sound.
If you did the previous steps, and know that your AirPods are close by, you can use an app to ring them. Tap All devices followed by your AirPods, and you should see their locations. In case your stolen AirPods are still connected to your device, you should be able to see them in the same place your other connected devices are shown.
If your AirPods are outside their cases and attached to an iPhone, they will appear in your Find Me card, as they would with an iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Mac. Thanks to Apples Find My Network, you can probably determine exactly where your AirPods are, or at least, where the AirPods were last. If your AirPods died near your phone, like in the middle of your home, Apples Find My app will provide their last known location.
If your AirPods are dead, Apples Find My app may give useful data about the last known location of your AirPods, but you will be left largely to your own detective skills to locate them. You can get directions to their last known location, where I hope your iPhone will find them, then play the audio.
The Find My app can give you a useful guide for finding your AirPods, even when they are out of battery, revealing the time and location where AirPods were last connected with an Apple device. Apple has the Find my iPhone function for lost iPhones, iPads, Macs, and others, but it has also got a Find my AirPods function, which could come in handy if you accidentally misplaced an AirPod. It is worth noting that Find My AirPods works for just the AirPods themselves: It cannot find the lost AirPods case, nor does it work when an AirPod is detached from an iPhone and stored in the case.

There is also no way to trace an AirPods case, since Find My AirPods requires Bluetooth connectivity, so there is no way to find a lost case. This added precaution would let you keep track of your AirPods cases position separately from your headphones or ears, so that if you do lose your case (with or without the AirPods inside), you could track it again with ease.
As a result, the case also will not be able to produce sound to locate you, since this function is tied to the earbuds of your AirPods, and the case itself does not have speakers. However, you may want to add a tracking device such as AirTag or Tile to the case as an added precaution for tracking your cases position in addition to the earbuds. Apple has also added a similar UI to AirTags Find Nearby to locate a pair of AirPods Pro or AirPods Max if you know that they are in proximity.
In fact, Apple recently released a new version of its AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and selected Beats headphones firmware, which makes it even easier to find the AirPods Pro using the Find My App. The latest iOS 16 version has Apples Find My Service.

You will also see Find My has a section called Notifications, which may come in handy if you did not immediately locate your Apple AirPods, and you have some additional steps you will want to take. If Apples Find My service cannot find your AirPods at all in a map, you should enable Notify When Found, which will send you a notification if Find My eventually gets a ping from your AirPods.
The good news is that Apples Find My service is designed specifically for situations like this, and it can help you find your Apple AirPods on an iPhone, iPad, or on your computer, accurately determine their position on the map, and even let you ring them for assistance. When you set up Find My on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, this functionality is also automatically enabled for your AirPods. As long as Find My is enabled, your Apple Watch and AirPods are automatically added to the app.
The Find My feature should be enabled on your iOS device before losing the AirPods. After realizing that your AirPods are nowhere to be found, you take a deep breath, pick up my iPhone, and open the Find My app. Finding your lost AirPod is simple, provided it is outside the case, still charging, and near enough your iPhone.
I use this more often than not to make sounds in order to find my iPhone in the house, but sometimes, I will use this same tool to locate lost or misplaced AirPods.

Using Apples Find My App, you can already see where your AirPods were last connected to an iPhone, or play a sound to help you easily pull it out of your couch cushions. You can trace stolen AirPods by going to the iCloud site while you are signed into iCloud, or using Find My on the iPhone. You can then use Find My in iCloud to locate an AirPod one at a time by tapping on the “Mute left” and “Mute right” buttons.
With Find, your iPhone tells you whether you are getting closer or further from an AirPod, so you can approach them closely enough that you will hear your AirPods ping.
How do you ring individual AirPods?
You can view the current location of your AirPods on a map and choose to play a sound on either or both of your earbuds if they are within Bluetooth range of your iPhone. Start listening for chirping noises coming from each earbud after selecting Play Sound. One AirPod won’t play any sound if the other is in the charging case.

Are AirPods always tracked?
Despite Apple releasing the “Find My AirPods” option, you can only locate your AirPods if they haven’t been reset if someone takes them or discovers them after they’ve been misplaced. There’s still a chance you may find the AirPods if they were recently lost or stolen and perhaps recover them.
