How To Like A Story On Instagram?
All you have to do for this is open the Instagram app and view the story you want to like. While viewing it, you’d be able to see a reply box at the bottom of the screen. Beside this box, there would be a heart icon; tap on that to like the said Instagram story.
Instagram is now slowly rolling out the ability to Like Stories globally, so that should come for you soon. Instagram has introduced a new feature to their core app that lets you like stories from friends and family.

Instagram is introducing a new way for users to interact with stories, showing appreciation by simply liking instead of sending direct messages. Since you cannot simply like a story, we are going to show you how to send someone a message to show appreciation instead. As to why Instagram has introduced Instagram Story Likes, the purpose is for users to show appreciation for any story through simple reactions, which do not go into peoplesDM inboxes.

If someonelikes your Instagram Story, they will appear on the Viewer Card, which can be accessed again when viewing your story. If you tap the heart icon, that sends a Like to the writer of that Story, and this Like will appear on the viewer sheet, rather than your Dm thread with them. As demonstrated by Instagram Chief Adam Mosseri, you will now see down at the bottom of the Stories view on the app, a new heart icon, that if clicked, sends the creator of any story on your feed a like.
Instagram is now adding the heart icon to the lower right when viewing Stories, right between the “Send Message” field and the “Paper Plane” icon. Once Instagrams Story Likes feature is rolling out to your account, you will notice the little heart icon alongside the paper plane icon on the lower menu bar that you see when viewing someones Instagram Stories. Once you have added this image to Instagram Story, you will see a message saying Swipe Up, and people will be able to find the URL of the site that you selected with one swipe.
If you have been using Instagram for any length of time, you would know you can see who is viewing Instagram when you swipe up from the bottom of your Story. With the addition of Likes, Instagram is not only giving users more ways to engage with Stories, it is hoping to make the creators inboxes a little bit easier to deal with. Instagram has been quite busy lately with new features to make Instagram more fun and pleasant to use.
Instagram is not always the worlds most user-friendly app to understand how to use, especially as new features such as Stories are introduced. If you are a brand new user on Instagram, or have simply never explored Stories, you might wonder what the heck a Reaction option works.
If you click on the three dots to go to the Stories settings menu, you are given several options regarding reactions and messages. Now, you can engage with the Story by tapping on a Like button, as with regular Feed posts, which does not trigger DM notifications for other users. Now you can like someones story without sending the person a DM, they will get the notification the same way they would if you responded to their feed post – privately, alongside all their other notifications.

Once you choose the picture or video to add to the Story, tap on the sticker button, and then tap on the countdown. If you choose Next when taking a new image or video for your Story, it takes you to the Share screen. Tap on the Paper Airplane button under your post (just as if you were sending a direct message). Then, in the next menu, you will see the option to Create Story With This Post This Post Tap this to view the post in the Feed as a sticker with your custom background, ready to be shared in your Story.
Someones story will show up in full-screen, and you can view any content that someone has posted within the past 24 hours. Creators will be able to see them on the Insights section of their Stories, and will see a little heart icon added to the name of a viewer on their Watch List. If that stories author wants to view all their favorites, or if you have posted a story and you would like to view your own favorites, you can head over to that stories Viewer Sheet, and any viewers that have really liked the story will have a little heart icon added.
When you have liked a Story, your account will get a notification saying that you liked the post, but likes are visible to the user of the account only — it is not publicly viewable by anybody else to see how many likes were received, or who liked a post. Instagram has added a new, easier way for users to interact with Stories content through Stories Likes, which allows you to like any Story on your feed, as well as letting the creator know, without having to initiate a DM conversation about the Story to the creator of any of your feed.
Instagram has launched Stories private likes, a feature that allows you to respond to an image or video someone has posted to their Stories private. Following a series of updates to the app, including new features for mental-health security, Instagram Feed Customization, and others, Instagrams new feature is Instagram Story Likes — a more direct modification to an already existing reaction that you can send in response to someones IG Story. You can like a post or photo simply by tapping on the appropriate icon, be it a thumbs-up on Facebook or the heart symbol on Instagram.
Can you change a story after posting?
The good news is that you can make minor adjustments, but the bad news is that you can’t make significant changes without deleting the Story and starting over. Go to the Story you want to edit, press the More icon, then select Story Settings to make any changes.
Can everyone like stories on Instagram?
Starting today, you may now show someone you care by like their story without sending a direct message. Likes on stories are anonymous and have no counts. Instead, they show up on your Stories view sheet as hearts next to people’s handles.
