How To Loan Kindle Ebooks
You can loan Kindle books to other Kindle users by using the “Loan This Book” feature on Amazon. Go to the Amazon website and log into your account. Select the Kindle book you want to loan. Click on the “Actions” button, and then select “Loan This Book.” Enter the recipient’s email address and the loan period. Click “Send now” to send the loan request.
If you do not have a device from Amazon, you will be given instructions for downloading the eBook to your PC or Mac. Head over to Manage your Content & Devices under your Kindle Account, and select the books you want to download. Then, go to Manage Your Content and Devices, choose the content, and then show the family library, and turn on Sharing for all of your Kindle ebooks.
You can choose to share all your Kindle books in the Family Library, or choose titles individually. The borrowing function lets up to two adults and four children share all or part of their Kindle books, apps, and audiobooks with each other.
It is a great way to share your book collection with friends and family, connecting up to two adults and up to four kids, on an adult account, to share the benefits of Amazon Prime and Kindle ebooks. The drawback is that the device used to read those shared e-books has to be the designated device with Family Library enabled, so Amazons Family Library function does not work with just any phone or tablet.
Similar to lending a physical book to a friend, you can share books that you own on the Kindle Paperwhite. You will receive an email alert when a Kindle title is lent by a friend, instructing you to download it on a Fire tablet, Kindle ebook reader, or the Kindle app. Then, by clicking on the “Get the Kindle Book Now” button, your Web browser will open up the Kindle, so that you can accept loans.
Select which device you want to have your e-book downloaded on, then click the accept loaned books button at the right-hand side of the Kindle page. If you already have the free Kindle reading app, or plan on downloading to an e-reader directly, you can click Accept loaned books. Recipients have up to seven days to accept your loan, and they can read the book using any one of Amazons Kindle reading apps, an e-reader, or the Kindle Fire tablet.

Once they have done so, they are sent to a “Loan This Book” page, where they can provide their recipients e-mail and a non-optional message. Once you have shared, your friend will have seven days to download the book, and then 14 days to read it before it is returned to you. To share the book, you need to make sure that you are on the product page of the Kindle edition of the book.
Since the Kindle has an extensive list of devices and apps which are capable of accessing shared content, it is easy to read and download the shared book. Amazon allows you to set up a six-person household Family Library, which allows you to share audiobooks, eBooks, and apps with family members with ease. Kindle allows you to access your Kindle library across up to 6 devices, including Kindle E-ink devices, Kindle Desktop, Kindle Tablets, and Kindle for Android/iOS.
In addition to Amazon-formatted ebooks, you can read EPUB ebooks and listen to MP3 audiobooks on your Kindle Fire by downloading the OverDrive app from Amazons app store. You can also install the CloudLibrary app on your Kindle Fire, which gives you access to a secondary library e-book collection for borrowing. Step 3 Sign into your Kindle app or Kindle device, and you will see that Kindle books are in your library right now.
Or, from the mobile Libby by OverDrive App, instruct Libby to send your eBook to the Kindle device or app, and then jump down to Step 8. To send your ebook to other Kindle devices and apps, go to Your Content and Devices on Amazon, then redeliver your ebook to your desired location(s).
When linked to your Kindle library at Amazon, you can click on the + button for each of your Kindle eBooks to see whether they are available to lend. You can, of course, check on your loan status from within your Kindle library, by clicking on the + symbol again next to a title, and viewing details about e-books that you have lent or borrowed.
When searching e-books, you will see a button on the right side of the title, which indicates you can either borrow the book in OverDrive or in the CloudLibrary app, or put a hold on the title in either OverDrive or CloudLibrary. You can type in the book you want to borrow into the search bar, and results will appear of users around the world who have your desired title. You can see whether the book is available for borrowing by checking out the details of the item before purchasing, or on the Content & Devices page, which I will demonstrate below.
This takes you to a screen that says “Loan This Book,” which I will show you in a moment, but first, let us look at the second way that you can search for and share books. If you buy a Kindle book you would like to share with another, lending it lets that person read it without paying a penny. That is a lot to take in, but once it all comes together, lending Amazon Kindle books is an awesome way to share your love of reading with other Kindle users.
Now that you have added adults and children to the lending function, and shared previous purchases, you are ready to start lending your new Kindle books. With the Family Library, there are no limits to the books you can share or the length of time they are loaned, and you can all read the book at the same time. With its loaner libraries, you do not also have to deal with time limits on loaning books, such as the 14-day period on titles borrowed from other Kindle owners, or a due date on borrowed titles, as you would have with a traditional library.

As long as you or your borrowers are able to complete the book in the 14-day loan period, Kindles lending book function is an awesome feature. During that two-week period, you cannot read a title unless your friend returns it earlier. You are still welcome to share books with people outside of your home group, but the process is slightly different.

Why can’t I Loan my Kindle book?
This is due to the lending feature only being available for a limited number of Kindle books. Open a book’s product page on Amazon, go down to the “Product details” section, and check to see if it qualifies or not. You should have no trouble lending the book if it reads “Lending: Enabled.”
How to Loan kindle books to your family and friends?
You can loan Kindle books to your family and friends using the Kindle Family Library feature. All you need to do is you should log in to your Amazon account and navigate to the Manage Your Content and Devices page. Click on the Settings tab and scroll down to the Family & Household section. You will receive an email invitation to join your Family Library. They will need to accept the invitation and follow the prompts to set up their account.
How to loan kindle books 2022?
You can loan Kindle books 2022 using the Kindle Family Library feature. All you need to do is log in to your Amazon account and go to the Manage Your Content and Devices page, Select the book you want to loan, and click the “…” button next to it. Click on “Loan this title” from the drop-down menu. Enter the email address of the person you want to loan the book to and click “Send now.” The recipient will receive an email notification with instructions on how to access the loaned book.
