You can import contacts from your iPhone to your Mac by connecting your iPhone to your Mac. On your Mac, open the Contacts app. In the Contacts app, click the File menu and select “Import”. Make sure that you are using the same Apple ID on the devices, and that you have enough storage on iCloud to store the content that needs to be transferred. Tip If your Mac is not synced with your iPhones contacts, check if the iCloud storage is full and that your Mac is signed in to the same Apple ID account as your iPhone.
Once you turn contact syncing on your iPhone, you will have to head over to the Mac and make sure that you did likewise. Once you have allowed contact syncing among your iPhones, you should have little trouble keeping things in the loop.
Whereas iCloud usually updates whenever you make a contact change, when you sync without iCloud, your contacts do not get updated until you plug the iPhone into the Mac next.
