Iphone Photos Album Vs Folder
The distinction is fairly obvious. You may instantly upload images of a person, occasion, or event to an album to organise them. A folder, on the other hand, will only let you add pre-existing albums and other folders to it, not specific images. Additionally, you may make folders to house several albums.
To help further organise your photos and albums, we are going to demonstrate how you can create folders within Photos on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. One of the ways you organize things into photos is by creating albums, which you can do on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
If you have several photos and video recordings on your Apple iPhone you would like to organize, albums are a great option. Once you have simplified the camera roll, create a set of albums in the My Albums section to organize the photos. Then, choose the Sharing option at the bottom-left corner of your screen, and select either Duplicate, for adding photos to the iPhone, or Add to Albums, for wanting to keep them part of a particular collection.
The design is why it is impossible to add photos or videos from somewhere else directly into an iPhone or its Photo Album. Apple designed the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch Camera Roll (Recents on iOS 13 and later) to contain only photos and videos that you took on your device. Sometimes, you will want to hide, move, or store photos and videos in a photo album to prevent them from appearing on the primary camera roll.
Select the photo, tap on the three-dots icon, and then select archive, and the photo will no longer show up in movies or in your main album. If you wish to add additional photos at a later time, you can return to this screen, or open a photo, tap the three-dot icon, and then tap Move to locked folder. On any memory, you can tap the three-dot icon, followed by Delete Memory, to remove that memory (this action does not remove any photos included in the album).
If Move To, photos are removed from the individual album and placed into a new album. Unfortunately, you cannot move already existing photo albums to the albums folder that you have created, but this is hopefully a feature added to future OSes. Hopefully, Apple updates the Photos app in iOS so moving albums to folders is just as simple as on a Mac; just drag and drop.

You can open up Photos on your iPhone, and swipe to the Utilities section to access Duplicates albums, which combine photos into the shared library. The iCloud shared Photo Library is also found within the Photos app, but is not nearly as easily found as Shared Albums. The major new feature does come with a few limitations, such as the maximum number of people, but the functionality and integration is far more polished than Photo apps current Shared Albums functionality.
You can share the iCloud Photo Library with up to five others, so a total of six people can share the same library. Each person participating in the shared Library A shared Library can download their whole collection of photos and videos into the library, which allows both people to eventually have the same images on their devices. You can create a shared library, and then invite any of your friends who own an Apple Product to browse photos, contribute photos, and edit photos.

The collaborative feature lets your friends add their own photos, videos, and even comments, which appear within your Photos app along with other albums such as Recents and Favorites.
The iPhone will even suggest things for you to share under a “For You” section in Photos, but you can disable that if you like. With Photos, you can disable sharing from the camera entirely to remove the toggle, or you can choose Share Automatically, which automatically adds any photos you capture to your Shared Library. Users have the option of choosing to share existing photos from the private gallery, or share by starting date or the person in the photo.

The new features operate slightly different from Shared Albums: Along with creating a shared library with up to five people, you can send photos directly from the camera to the shared library, adjust which photos are included depending on who is in the picture, and more. Similar to Shared Album, iClouds Shared Photo Library lets up to six people (including you) collaborate and contribute private shared photos, but instead of an album, the function creates a totally separate library. The Photos Shared Album feature is an excellent way to keep group chat from getting chaotic, but now that Apple has introduced a new feature, iCloud Shared Photo Library, with iOS 16.1, it is time to find out what each tool has to offer.
Going beyond the Shared Albums function, which has been around for years, a new, core capability lets you share an entire or partial photo library automatically, or manually, as well as right from the camera.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to create folders inside your iCloud library, but you can organise photos by marking them Favorites, or using captions and keywords as labeling tools. If you find that you are constantly scanning through the Photo Library to choose photos that you would like to edit and share, we suggest creating folders called To Edit and Edited within the albums.
Once you are done purging unnecessary photos from your library, you can concentrate on organizing the ones that matter in your designated albums. While doing so, you can use the Search Tool within the Photos app (found at the lower-right corner) to find photos by date, location, and content.
To manage your albums in Apples Photos app on the iPhone, the route takes you back through the Albums tab. Once the iPhone has had time to process your files, you can browse photos ordered by Location (where they include location data, naturally), as well as many other categories, selecting them from the Albums tab, once again on the lower dashboard. You can tinker with the Photos app to make it behave more like yours, or simply turn off the algorithmic albums entirely if you are freaked out.
