Iphone Test Alert Notification
You may set Test Emergency Alerts while your iPhone is connected to a carrier in the United States—either using a U.S. SIM card or when travelling in the U.S. Normally, this is not on. You’ll hear a sound that sounds like an alarm when you get this kind of notice, and it will say that it’s a test.
This article is for iPhone users in locations with emergency alert systems or Amber Alerts; these notifications are not available in every country. The “Emergency Alert” function of my iPhone is designed for receiving alerts from government, emergency, and public safety.
If you are not receiving any Emergency Alerts on your iPhone after turning the alerts on, check the network connectivity and reboot the iPhone. You can find the toggle under Settings > Notifications > Government alerts (scroll to the bottom). Users who might have been exposed to COVID-19 from another user will receive a notification within 24 hours of that user with the COVID-positive condition following WA Notify steps to anonymously notify other WA Notify users. WA Notify users who have tested positive must follow the steps to anonymously alert others who may have been exposed, so you should ignore any texts or notifications that are not meant for you. If you get these notifications, you just have to click on the notification or click on the link in the text message, and then go through the steps on WA Notify to anonymously alert other users to possible exposure.
If you have the app installed on your device, you can follow the instructions in a text message to anonymously notify others that were nearby you about a possible COVID-19 exposure. Because the app is 100% anonymous, the state will not be informed of your possible exposure to COVID-19. The Department of Health and Human Services texts and/or pops-ups notifications to anyone recently tested positive for COVID-19, so that WA Notify users can alert other users of a possible exposure, quickly and anonymously.

Any alerts that you might get on NYS ENX are totally anonymous, so data collected cannot be linked back to your health care provider(s) or local health department. If you have tested positive after downloading the app and opting into the Exposure Notifications, you are entitled to receive a code with an 8-digit number via the apps self-service features. If you test positive and share your close contact code inside of NYS ENX, an exposure alert will be sent to other users of the app, based on your prior activities (up to 14 days in advance).

In iOS 15.3 or older, you can call in a special code within the Phone app to opt-in to test alerts. It was already possible to enable test alerts on older versions of iOS, either by installing a special profile from Apple, or by dialing a code in the Phone app. Until now, the process to enable these test alerts required entering a set of numbers in a dialer panel inside the Phone app and pressing the call button.
Well, now you can ensure that you get those test alerts thanks to a new toggle that Apple added in iOS 15.6 and iOS 3rd beta. iOS 15.6 The iOS 3rd beta. Apple included the option to “Test alerts” under Settings for iOS 15.6 and iOS 16 beta 3, and this is a feature only available for iPhones tied to U.S. carriers. With iOS 15.4, Apple is finally making it a lot easier to manage the Tests or Government alerts that might pop up on your iPhone.
Both iOS 15.6 and iOS 16 purportedly offer a new toggle to allow testing emergency warnings from the U.S. government on your iPhone, as well as for Apple Watch U.S. Government alerts. The recent update to iOS 15.6 as well as iOS 16s third beta release includes a new toggle within the Settings app to test emergency alerts from the US government. The latest toggle, which is off by default, allows you to opt-in to testing that agency sometimes does on its emergency alerting system.
