The Apple TV 3 can be jailbroken using a software-based jailbreak, which allows you to install apps and tweaks that are not available on the official Apple App Store. Once you’ve jailbroken your Apple TV, you can install third-party apps and tweaks, such as XBMC, using the Cydia app.
To jailbreak the Apple TV 3, you need iOS 8.4.3 (12H876), which was released for the Apple TV 3 on September 24, 2019. As we discussed in above mentioned steps, it is easy to use some tools for Jailbreak the 3rd Generation of the Apple TV.

By jailbreaking Apple TV 3rd Gen, you will be able to install third-party apps like Kodi, TV Flash (black) and many others. Yes, you can now, after long enough, jailbreak your Apple TV using the blackb0x untethered jailbreak, which also installs kodi in tvOS after you jailbreak it.

As you can see in the above list, whether you can jailbreak Apple TV 2/3 or not depends on which iOS version is running. The jailbreak for the Apple TV supports the iPhone X and lower devices in each iOS version, and there is not much that Apple Inc. can do with that since it is not patchable.
On BlackbOxs GitHub site, where it allows downloads, you will also find instructions for the third-generation Apple TV jailbreak. As a result of Snow3rd, the Apple TV 3rd Gen is now capable of installing apps from sources other than App Store. Connect to power source and start using the Apple TV 3 using HDMI cable: After checking if jailbreak was successful, you are now able to use your Apple TV 3rd Generation and download apps outside the App Store. Remove your USB cable, then connect the Apple TV to your TV using an HDMI cable and the Power Source.
Step 05- Once you have completed the sideloading process, Chimera JB App is available in your Apple TVs interface. Step 07 – Once the jailbreak process is completed successfully, you will receive a Thank You message, just tap on OK. Step 06- Launch the Chimera JB App on Apple TV Devices and Tap on the Click Me button to begin the jailbreak process.
Apple TV 3,2(A1469) and Apple TV 2,1(A1378) users can just connect the Apple TV 3 to the Mac and run the tool by clicking the Install Jailbreak button and following the on-screen instructions to get into DFU Mode and finish the jailbreak process.
Blackb0x jailbreaks work both untethered and with the following tethering according to the device model and the version of tvOS. It is slightly different process for fourth- and fifth-generation TVs jailbreaks, since tvOS operates differently than the mainstream Apple TV software. The first-generation Apple TV can be jailbroken using a piece of software called Rowmote, though the software is a bit dated and would not give you an excellent experience over an Apple TV 4.
The Apple TV 2, running the iOS 5.3 software (released June 19, 2013), can be jailbroken using software called Seas0nPass.
