If you are using Apples M1 Mac, Press and Hold the Power key on the system as the Mac restarts. Go to the utility window by clicking Command+R if you have an Intel-based Mac, or by pressing and holding the Power key if you have Apple silicon-based Macs.
For Intel-based Macs, shutdown MacBook from the Apple Home Menu, and press and hold the Command-R key until the Mac reboots. Once it is done, restart the Mac like normal to check whether the problem has been solved.

You may want to wait for a minute at the login user screen before you are presented with a prompt that directs you to hit the Power button to reboot the Mac to recovery mode. Once your Mac reboots, you will be asked to enter your Apple ID or recovery key, just like you did before. If you have an Apple ID linked to a user account on your Mac, you can use that to reset the password from the login box. You can use a recovery key along with a valid phone number and Apple device to reset the password.
Once the Mac has restarted, you will then be asked to log into it using an Apple ID, choose which user account you would like to reset your password to, then type the password of your new user account. After entering the account password three times, you will be asked whether to reboot the Mac in order to see your password reset options. Follow the instructions to reboot your computer, at which point you should see a Reset Password window appear.
Now reboot your Mac, you should find that the -Macintosh HD-Data cannot be unlocked error message no longer appears. If your Mac is getting Macintosh HD – Data cannot be unlocked drive error, that means that volume that has files is locked, and cannot be managed. If you are getting an message saying incorrect password, or if it does not go away, it may be a Macintosh HD data disk belonging to someone else on your Mac.
The easiest way to fix the Macintosh HD Data Error is to perform a First Aid function from inside Disk Utility when the MacBook is booted into recovery mode. When you are done running First Aid in Recovery mode, you can reboot the Mac (in normal mode) to see if your issue still exists.
When erasing your Mac in Recovery Mode to fix specific problems, you will also be erasing a backup of your Mac. That is why, before proceeding to delete a redundant Mac OS drive, you should ensure that you have prepared your Mac and made a backup of your system (see instructions above). A traditional backup for Mac using Time Machine would save a backup to the HDD data of your Macintosh, which is why you need an external hard drive and some extra software. Before taking action, you should restore data from a backup volume using iBoysoft Data Recovery for Mac to prevent any permanent data loss.

If you are not going to be able to recover [First-Aid] volumes from your Mac, then erase your Apple drive and install a fresh copy of macOS. MacOS relies on your recovery key to allow you to get back into the Mac, or to reset the account password if you forget it.
