How To Edit Close Friends On Instagram
To access your profile, tap or click on your profile image in the lower right. Select Close Friends by tapping in the top right corner. Tap the names of those you wish to include in your list of Close Friends. Tap the name of the person you want to remove from your list.
Instagrams “close friends” is a good way to connect with a certain group rather than posting to an entire list, and allows you to let only specific people have access to your most private photos. Instead of sharing one story everyone gets to see, you can use Instagrams Close Friends list to be more flexible with posts. Added in 2018, Instagrams Close Friends lets you select who gets to see specific Stories you might not want to otherwise share with a larger group of people on social media.
The ability to select different groups of people for sharing Stories is already something that Instagrams community has been asking for a while. The idea was to more selectively share Instagram Stories in private, to give you the power of controlling what is seen by all. You could build an intimate setting with a select group of people, and share the kind of private content that Instagram Stories has never had.
Instagrams goal in doing this is simple: to allow you to build up a small group of friends for sharing more private content. When you can master Instagrams “close friends” feature, you will be in a position to control your Instagram community and brand identity, choosing what content to publish, and targeting it to specific audiences.
When you publish an Instagram Story exclusive to members of your close friends list, your Story will appear on top of their Instagram feed, in a green circle surrounding your profile photo. Once you have posted an Instagram story in the new close friends feature, your profile image will show up with a green circle surrounding it, on both your Profile page (which can only be seen by you) and your Close Friends feed. While Instagram does not alert users when you have added or removed them from your Close Friends list, they can tell which stories you are sharing to close friends from those you are sharing with everyone by looking at the color of the ring around your profile photo in your Stories feed each time you post a new one.
If someone has added you to theirs, you will see a green badge when you are viewing their Stories, and a green ring around their profile picture. That is right: You cannot see who is added you to their list, and your followers cannot see who is on yours. If you would rather that nobody see any of your stories, you can privately add them to the “hidden stories” list.

With this check, you can add, remove, or leave people in your friends with various stories on a single list. Tap the Add To List, and you can begin adding people to your list using the same process that I have explained before. Tap Add to add someone to this list, or use the search box on the top to quickly find and add a particular person.

If you would like to add a particular user, you can search for them/her by clicking on the magnifying glass at the top. If you want to add a particular fan to your list, use the search bar at the top of the screen to search and add their accounts, and choose which of the closest friends you would like to add. To add additional friends, type their name (or their Instagram username) in the search box at the top of the page, then tap the tick box next to their name.

Now that you have configured your Close friends list, choose to take a photo or video like normal, and instead of tapping your profile photo at the bottom right, tap the green Start icon to only send posts to Close friends. While your Story is live, you can click on your profile picture to browse through and see who has seen or engaged with your Story content. Select Stories in the drop-down menu, then craft your Stories posts the way you normally would, using a number of tools and features on Gram.
Once you have hit Done, your stories will no longer appear in the Stories tray for friends, and you will need to delete them from your list in order to grant them access again. Later, when you choose to remove someone from your list, just hit this button, and that user is removed.
The first thing you will want to do is create one, then you can modify it however you like, adding or removing users. The first thing you need to know about this function is that you are completely in control when creating a list. It is up to you whether to make the list for your own activity, or simply for the sake of connecting and sharing stories.
You can make one and easily share things with your customers and viewers across the world. If you are a coach or trainer, simply make a list for users and share various tips and tricks, appropriately in a private manner.
As with any digital hygiene practice, it is worth going through your lists once every once in awhile, making sure that anyone who wants to see your classified content is in it. You can select friends that you would like to have on that exclusive list that exclusive list, then share your stories only with them, rather than with everyone. If you do not want your family or colleagues to see your dancing moves in your Instagram reel, you can save this content for just your intimate circle – or, if you want to ensure that your Internet crush sees your best selfies, you will want to make sure that they are included in the list.
When using the “close friends” list, you can send exclusive content just for one specific group, like discount codes, offers of partnerships, special access to products before their actual release, special announcements, and custom messages or videos.
Your boss does not have to necessarily see the posts that your best friends do, after all, and vice versa. Adding or removing people does not trigger any notifications–per Instagram, this is for privacy reasons–so feelings are not harmed if you decide that, in fact, you are not so close to your fellow officemates anymore. This method is an awesome way to stay connected with people who you work with most closely, and can cut down on the outreach you have to do.
According to the Instagram blog post announcing this feature back in November 2018, you can head over to your Instagram profile and tap on the Close friendsa option on the side menu, which can be accessed by tapping on the triple horizontal lines at the top-right.

Instagram does not let you adjust the privacy settings for specific posts or stories, but you may change the privacy settings for your entire account and make all of your tales publicly accessible. Additionally, this will make your profile’s photos and videos public.
