When Lost Mode is enabled on your iPhone, your network provider and Apple use it to locate your device using their Find My app. This feature is available on every iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Mac that uses an Apple ID and has the Find My app installed. Using my network provider and Apple’s network of devices, the Lost Mode pending feature sends out a signal to all nearby devices that explains that the missing device is in Lost Mode. This means that any third party accessories or other networks connected to my network will receive this signal as well. The signal requires an internet connection so that it may reach all of these devices at once.
