How does Siri eject water?

Using a Siri shortcut called Water Eject, you can launch this third-party Water ejection app, which uses a low-frequency sound wave to knock water off the device. Luckily, there is a Siri shortcut on your iPhone to assist with the process of directly knocking out the droplets from your speaker grille using the sound at low frequencies.

Basically, you play a certain sound through your iPhones speaker, which forces water to come out. The water comes out from the speaker grille, and once the process is completed, the devices volume is reduced by 50%. After the process is completed, Siri will reduce the devices volume to 50 %, and you will receive an alert that the process is completed.

Your iPhone will produce a tone for 10-15 seconds, at which point you will see a notification saying that the water has been removed from the speakers. When running, it plays a very bassy tone for around ten seconds, shaking the water both from your speakers and the exterior of your device.

Playing is the method generally recommended for trying out when speakers are getting damp, and works with any speaker, not just smartphones. Before you run out to toss your iPhone in a bowl of rice, there is a neat trick that involves low-frequency pitching, which may help get out the water trapped inside the speakers. These sound waves make the speakers vibrate, pushing the water from the phone, much like it does in an Apple Watch.

The days of hiding dank iPhones inside bags of rice are over, as you can now use an app to push the water out of the phones speakers. While you will not have to immediately dries out the device, you may have to remove water from the iPhone in order for its microphones to function normally again. If you dropped your iPhone in water, it is important that you try to dry the iPhone out as best as you can, rather than putting it back in the charger.

If you have ever accidentally dropped an iPhone in water, you know how important it is to remove water as soon as you can. What you do after that is crucial, as any lack of vigilance can result in the water getting stuck inside the iPhone, potentially leading to a unresponsive screen, mangled speakers, and damaged handset.

Dropping it in causes the water droplets to become trapped within your iPhone, and this sometimes prevents the phone from turning on or working as expected. Water may be trapped in the spaces between some parts of the iPhone while in a pocket, and when a vibrator goes off while someone is calling.

Water can cause problems if it gets in some parts of the phone, such as keyboards or the touchscreen. Not all iPhones come with water-resistance features, and putting one in the water could permanently damage your device. Although the majority of the iPhone models are waterproof, the risk remains that water will get inside of the smartphones internal systems and lead to damage.

Using is a good way to eliminate any water that might get trapped inside your phone and causing malfunctions. Similar to the manual process, if there is water trapped inside the speakers, you should see that water start either to drip or to squirt from the bottom of your iPhone.

Once you add the free Shortcut Tool to the Shortcuts Library on your device, complete these steps to launch it whenever there is water seeping into your iPhones speaker cavity. As mentioned in the steps above, Water Ejects Shortcut can be downloaded from Shortcuts Gallery site, then user needs to add it in the Shortcuts application on the iPhone. The iOS Shortcuts community has now taken that idea and ran with it, creating an Eject Water shortcut for the iPhone which does something similar.

If running from within Shortcuts App, Shortcuts Widget, or Spotlight Search, tap the Stop button in the shortcuts tab. Select Start water ejection When it is done, Siri turns off your devices volume. You can add this third-party app to run the water ejection either as a shortcut, or you can tell Siri to start water ejection next time.
