How To Turn Off Iphone 10

How To Turn Off Iphone 10

To turn off an iPhone 10, press and hold the Side button and either Volume button until the “slide to power off” screen appears. Then, swipe right to turn off your iPhone. Alternatively, you can turn off the iPhone by going to “Settings” > “General” > “Shut Down.”

You can turn off the iPhone from within iOS settings, or you can turn off your device using a physical button on the iPhone. The physical buttons are the fastest way to shutdown an iPhone X or higher, but if you are not able to use a physical button to shutdown the iPhone, there is another method. Restarting the phone using the buttons is similar to the first method.

There are other options to reboot your phone if you are not comfortable with the button method. You can still use a button sequence to power down your iPhone, and we are going to show you one option to power down your iPhone without using the buttons.

Once a phone has been successfully turned off, users can then power their phones back on by pressing and holding a side button. On older iPhones, you would press and hold the Side (Power) button until you saw a Slide to Power Off option to power down your phone. You will then see a Slide to Power Off option on the screen, similar to what other iPhones have.

Next, hold down the Lock screen button, and slide the Power Off slide to power your iPhone off. Press and hold the Lock/Unlock button until the screen of your iPhone turns off, turns back on, and turns off again.

If you wish to power your iPhone back on, long-press the Power/Side/Home button until you see the Apple logo on your screen. Next, do a hard reboot on the iPhone, but do not release the (s) buttons once the Apple logo appears. Once the Apple logo is gone from the screen of your iPhone a second time, let go of the Lock/Unlock button.

With iPhone 8 or higher, press and release the Volume Up button rapidly, press and release the Volume Down button rapidly, then hold the Power button until you see the Apple logo. If you do not want to bother holding down two different buttons, you can configure the phone so that it opens up the Power Menu when you press and hold the power button 5 times. If you hit and hold Volume Up and Sleep buttons too soon, you get a screen grab instead of the power menu.

If you only want the classic power off menu (not the emergency menu), do it in this sequence: Press Volume Up, Press Volume Down, Press and Hold Sleep.

You can continue pressing the volume down button until a pop-up volume panel says silence. If you have the “Change With Buttons” checkbox checked under “Sounds and Haptics,” you can adjust your alarms volume using your volume buttons, which are located on the left-hand side of the iPhone, right under the “Silent” switch.

Normally, to power down the iPhone X, press and hold both the Side Button (aka Sleep/Wake) and any Volume buttons until you see a slide-to-power-off on your screen. To turn off an iPhone 13, press and hold both the Volume Up and Side buttons until the Slide to power off – appears on the screen, and then swipe the Power icon to the right. You can easily turn off the iPhone 13 entirely using two buttons on the sides of the device.

You can turn on voice control on iPhones by pressing and holding the Home button, but only when Siri is turned off, meaning that you cannot use voice control while using Siri. Like the coin has two sides, a lot of users reported that Voice Control on iPhone annoyed them greatly when it started to dial their contacts in your pocket when walking, caused by accidental pressing, and they wanted to turn it off to avoid the awkward situation. Two easy ways only disable Voice Dial on iPhone, while Music voice control is always enabled.

Make sure you are not holding those two buttons all the time, otherwise, you automatically trigger the emergency SOS, which is something you do not want to happen if you are just turning your iPhone X off. Continuing to hold down both buttons while the screen of your iPhone has already turned off will cause the iPhone to reboot. Make sure you release the buttons quickly at this point, as holding them for too long can cause the phone to reboot.

To reboot your phone, touch the AssistiveTouch button from your home screen, then tap reboot. To turn on AssistiveTouch options on an iPhone, return to the Home screen and triple-click the home button.

To disable the AssistiveTouch menu on the iPhone X, tap on the floating AssistiveTouch widget to bring up the AssistiveTouch menu, and from there, tap Device, then tap More…, then tap Reboot. If tapping Restart on the AssistiveTouch menu turns your iPhone X off successfully, it might have a physical malfunction on your Side/Power button which needs replacing. If you are unsure whether or not your side button is broken, try opening AssistiveTouch on the phone, which is a software option that allows you to access many favorite features on the iPhone X without touching the screen or pressing the buttons.

It is a neat trick, most helpful if the phones physical Home button is broken and cannot be used to restore the iPhone (it works for models that do not have the Home button, too). Just in case your power button stops working or becomes defective, you can use the AssistiveTouch, the Virtual Button, to power down the phone. With the iPhone X, the side button reserved to manage device power now brings up Siri, so there is some additional work required just to turn the phone off.

If you have an iPhone 6s or older, press the top or side buttons and home button together for a short period to make a slide-out pop-up. Once you use one of these button sequences, drag the Slide To Power Off sliders right. If the device does not react through the software, press Volume Up 1 second, followed by Volume Down 1 second, and hold down the Side Button until the iPhone turns off and displays the corporate logo once more.

How do I turn off my phone without using the power button?

Only Android devices can be used with this technique; therefore, make sure your Android phone is off before using it. Simply connect your USB cable, then press and hold the volume up/down buttons to launch recovery mode. When the menus display, just select “exit” to restart the device.

Why won t my power off button work?

If a software or program error is the cause of the power button not responding, rebooting would be helpful. All of the applications would benefit from a device reset. Pressing the home key along with the volume and power keys at the same time will reset an Android phone.
