How To Turn Off Suggested Posts On Instagram
To see suggested posts, open the Instagram app and scroll down to the bottom of your feed. On a suggested post, click the three dots. Select Not Interested. Instagram will no longer display as many posts like these. After tapping the box next to the proposal for a similar account, touch Submit.
This is the only method that you can use to turn off the recommended posts in your feed, until Instagram introduces a feature that disables recommended posts forever. By doing the deletion, you will be taking a suggested post out of your Instagram feed, but the content from that same account could still appear afterwards, though Instagram says that Instagram will consider your preferences.
If you want to ensure that specific content does not appear in your Instagram feed, you can block an account entirely. Instead, you can customize your Instagram feed so you see only posts from people that you follow on your Instagram feed. If you do not want to follow suggested users, you can easily turn off Instagram suggestions, so that they are no longer displayed.
Just as Instagram shows you suggested users and posts, your accounts are also recommended to others. You will often see suggested posts, too, on your feed, that are things that Instagram thinks you may want to see, based on the other content that you have interacted with. Based on accounts you have followed and prior searches, Instagram will also suggest searches that might interest you.

These suggestions are based on posts from accounts that are similar to those you follow, or posts that are similar to those that you have liked or saved to Instagram. These suggestions are based on things like how active you are, connections, how popular a post is, etc. The post suggestions that you are getting to follow are not based on who has looked at your profile, or stalked you.
If you choose the former, you are taken to an alternative, Curated Feed, which has posts from the people who follow you. You can add up to 50 accounts to the favorites list to get a curated feed with accounts that are of greatest interest. Instead of swiping past accounts that you are not even following, you can tap on See older posts instead to keep seeing posts you actually want to see.

Now, rather than only seeing the content from accounts that you follow, your Feed functions more like an Explore page, showing you a higher volume of posts from suggested accounts. Previously, your Instagram feed was solely dedicated to showing you the latest content from accounts you followed, so that you could keep up with the activities of your interests and friends, but this has changed with the recent updates. Last summer, Instagram started adding slots for featured videos –from accounts that you did not follow–into your regular feed.
As we explained in our tutorial on using Instagrams chronological feed, you can tap on Instagrams logo and select either follow or favorite to see posts from a particular account of your liking. Instagram will also keep a record of what kinds of hashtags you are using, posts that you have liked or commented on, things like that. Instagram will track what you like to see and explore, and on that basis; an algorithm will send you suggestions that Instagram thinks you would find interesting.
By analysing posts that you have followed, liked, and commented on, Instagram attempts to show you better recommendations to give you a better user experience. This is similar to giving Instagram your feedback about the suggestions from Instagram, so they can serve you with more relevant content based on your interests.
While you cannot turn off post suggestions on Instagram, you can opt-out of seeing them using an elegant workaround. These are three options that you can select when explaining to Instagram why you no longer wish to see those types of posts.
Instead, you can hide each post separately, telling Instagram that this is not the type of content that you enjoy or want to see. Instagram has also made it clear that suggested Explore posts on Instagram cannot be closed down in any way. If you are looking to how to delete suggest posts on Instagram, you can let Instagram know that you are not interested in their suggestions, although you cannot hide them or prevent them from appearing at the bottom of your feed.
Scroll down until you find the Account suggestion section, and toggle this to turn it off, so that suggestions like [x account name] that you may know are on Instagram, and other similar notifications are gone. The “Suggested Posts” feature appears on the bottom of your Instagram feed after scrolling through any new content posted by accounts that you have already followed. For example, say you love watching videos about cats and dogs, then when you are done checking your feed, towards the bottom, Instagram says, You are caught up, then starts showing suggested posts about cats and dogs, since you have checked similar content before.
Oddly, Instagram has yet to roll this out on the network, so you do not run into any pesky suggested posts there — just photos of your friends and other accounts that you follow. Instagram will presumably keep an eye out for your preferences going forward, and avoid showing you similar content, but it is not a 100% guarantee that you will not see posts like these. This is super frustrating, because previously, even once I was caught up, I could still see older posts from people I followed that were posted to, and appearing on my feed.
From here, you can opt not to see any posts suggested by a particular user, or you can opt to snooze all suggested posts from feeds for 30 days. If the feature is enabled in your country, you can select that option by tapping on the three dots and choosing Snooze all posts for 30 days. Once snoozed, you will see a green tick box with a confirmation that your main Instagram feed will be free of any suggestions posts for the next 30 days.
To snooze a recommended post, locate it on your feed and tap on the triple dots at the top right. If you do not wish to receive suggestions from friends, tap the three dots in the top right corner of a recommended user and choose the “Hide” option.
Future suggestions in the feed will reflect your answer, and you wonat get suggestions from this account anymore. This style allows for greater cross-movement opportunities within the feeds of users who are not already following your account. So, you can customize the Instagram experience based on what you prefer — much in the same way that you reset the feed on Instagram Explore.

Why can’t I turn off suggested posts on Instagram?
